A few days later, Leilani had finished meditating on what was the truth about herself not only as a Padawan but as a servant to the force.

Her Master had come to inform Leilani that they had received a transmission from the Jedi Council on Coruscant.

Leilani followed her into the main room of the hideout where Bastila was rummaging through a metal container.

"Master Shan, is there any food in that container?" Leilani asked as she glanced at the stored weapons and devices.

"There's some packaged dry food. Oh, and I found some truth serum," Bastila said, holding up a vial. "Do you want to train Leilani to resist it fully?"

Trinity-Sky rolled her eyes. "We've been over this, Bastila. Leilani had some training as a youngling, but she's so naturally underweight that she threw up during an interrogation ten months ago."

Leilani bit her lower lip. "I threw up for hours."

Trinity-Sky scratched her head, feeling embarrassed. "Uh, yeah... She was barely fourteen. I volunteered for a diplomatic mission to teach her delegation skills. I sent her into an air vent because she's small and I sensed something was off."

Leilani nodded in acknowledgment. "I found a Dark Jedi plotting to start a war. I accidentally knocked the vent down and fell into the room. I was captured and injected with truth serum, but I threw up because my body couldn't handle it, even after my Master rescued me."

Trinity-Sky nodded. "I convinced the Great Grand General to avoid war, and I sent Leilani back to the ship to recover. As I was on my way back, a Sith assassin found her, but she threw up on him, and he left. She wasn't trained with her lightsaber yet, so she was lucky." Trinity-Sky tossed the truth serum away. "We're not using that on Leilani."

Bastila leaned against the wall with her arms folded. "Well, that's embarrassing for you, Trinity-Sky. Your first mission with your Padawan, and she gets caught and throws up." Then she smiled. "I expected you to say she fumbled during negotiations or almost chopped off your head in combat."

Trinity-Sky sighed. "Oh, Bastila, you'll understand when you have a Padawan. Embarrassing things happen."

A beeping noise interrupted them. Leilani rushed to the transmitter and pressed a button—a recording played.

"Master Bay and Jedi Knight Bastila, this is the Jedi Council. A fleet with skilled pilots is en route to aid you. They should be one rotation away. Please stay low until they arrive to help free the planet. Master Bay, we send our condolences for losing your Padawan."

"Bastila, send a reply telling them Leilani is alive," Trinity-Sky said, relieved that help was coming.
