Chapter 15: Fights and Love

Damian and Leilani were subconsciously holding hands as they walked back to the landing dock. When they realized what they were doing, they nervously giggled and let go.

  Bastila was following behind them. She was hesitating to attack. Leilani was her friend and she was unsure if she should follow through with her plan. "Is this worth becoming a Sith apprentice? Am I that desperate to be trained to reach my full force potential that I kill a friend?"

  Without thinking twice, Bastila leaped at Leilani. Leilani drew out her lightsaber with her left hand and got in a defensive position. Damian stayed by her side to lead the defense.

  Leilani force-pushed Damian away. She knew that he was not familiar with fighting someone with a double bladed lightsaber. Leilani was skilled in that field because of the times she spared with Bastila when Bastila was in the Order.

  Leilani knew the pattern double bladed lightsaber wielders typically performed so she wanted to keep Damian safe.

  Their duel was intense. Their lightsabers clashed rapidly. Small sparks resulted from the lightsabers' contact.

  Both women were excellently acrobatic and flexible. When pushed back, Leilani performed three backward flips. She landed on her hands and pushed up to her feet and did the same two more times.

  Bastila and Leilani were coming across as putting on a show to the locals. Neither woman gave them much thought. They were busy trying to predict the other's next move with their ultimatums in mind. Leilani wanted to take Bastila back to the temple and Bastila wanted to kill Leilani.

  Damian made the civilians leave the area. "This is not a show, this is a serious fight where someone could die." Then he joined in the fight. He was talented and strong in the force but he had no skill for double bladed users.

  Leilani was not pleased when Damian entered the fray. He distracted her long enough for Bastila to push Leilani forty feet away aggressively. Leilani twisted her left ankle as she attempted to recover. She groaned in pain and she fell on the ground, sitting down.

  It seemed like it would have been the end, if someone did not arrive.

  That person was the former Sith, Revan. He was sent to follow up with the President.

  Leilani was surprised to see him. "Master Revan, what brings you here?"

  Bastila was caught off guard by her crush's appearance.

   Revan used that to disarm her. "The Council sent me to wrap up the process of the neutrality of the planet when we heard about the decision but that is going to have to wait. Bastila must be delt with first ."

  Revan knocked Bastila out and took her to his ship where he cuffed her. Damian carried Leilani to her ship so she could fly back to Coruscant and he did the same on his ship.

  Leilani treated her twisted ankle as she was going through hyperspace.

  Then she got a holotransmission from Revan's ship. Bastila appeared. "Leilani, I wanted to thank you. With your words and Revan's help, I saw the errors of the dark side. I was a fool. I don't need to use my Battle Meditation whenever I want , it can hurt others. My pride got the best of me, I'm ashamed. I ask for your forgiveness."

  Leilani smiled. "I'm glad you're no longer on the dark side, Master Shan."

  Bastila looked downward, she had sorrow in her voice. "I doubt the council will take me back."

  "Chin up Bastila," Leilani looked at her with sympathy. "They took back Revan, redemption is possible."

  Bastila bowed. She felt relieved and happy that she was forgiven and would not be hated. "I look forward to seeing you back on Coruscant, as a Jedi Knight awaiting orders from the council."

  Leilani smiled and bowed as well. "I am sure my Master would be happy to share her Padawan. May the force be with you." She ended the transmission.

  So much had happened that day. Leilani felt accomplished. She was growing to be a strong Jedi and gain more knowledge about the force.

  Bastila and Revan reached the Temple before Leilani did because Leilani was figuring out where to land her ship because someone landed in the spot that was designated for her.

  When she got back, Leilani saw Revan and Bastila holding hands– walking out of the temple. Being confused, she rushed to the Council with her report on the assignment and they told her, Bastila and Revan were going to marry and come back. She was upset, felt like the marriage was betrayal to her– though she was being hypocritical because she loved Damian.

  The Council was not pleased with their decision and informed Leilani that they would be dealt with. They also instructed Leilani to control her anger before she could repeat what happened to Bastila.

  Toward the end of the day, Bastila and Revan returned to the temple. They wanted to let the Council know their vows were final.

  The grandmaster spoke to them when they arrived in the council chamber. "This is unacceptable. You two have broken the Jedi code."

  Revan looked at Bastila. "But I learned the value of emotions, their good outweighs the bad. I can't hold it anymore."

  The council dismissed them and reluctantly concluded that because they were heroes, they could remain as Jedi so long as Revan did not spread his philosophy about love.

  Trinity-Sky was happy that Bastila returned to the Light side and Bastila was happy she reunited and was forgiven by her friend. Unfortunately, those feelings were short-lived
