Throughout their life it was always just them,no matter what. Moving away from home? They had each other. No real new friends? The other one was there. Abuse? Don't worry,the other one was there to help.
While their father always tended to physical abuse/domestic abuse whenever Jules or Lilith angered him (which was extremely easy). Tho on most occasions he was harsher on Jules believing that he was a boy and he could "get over it" easier then Lilith. Their mother would rather take the route of emotional abuse. Ignoring them when she was pissed, starvation or manipulating them into feeling bad about things that weren't even that bad. Things both their parents would do were taking the fear of their children as a way of entertainment. Watching Lilith be completely terrified of dogs? Hilarious. Or locking Jules in a completely dark room and hear him bang against the door in complete fear? Yup,why not? Obviously those two weren't fit to be parents.
Rather they weren't even fit to be married,their marriage only formed because their mother got pregnant with Jules and Lilith. There was never any real love between the parents,which obviously the twins could sense. Perhabs Jules never really learned how to love "right" because of that. Yet during their childhood/teenage years they were really close and nice to each other. Of course they had some fights here and there but never anything really serious. When they grew older they distanced a little from each other but that was mainly because they got different friends and different interests.
