As Talia stepped off the plane in Australia, the buzz of her phone in her hand caught her attention. When she unlocked it, she smiled at the message from Alexia on Instagram.

Princesa, I didn't get your number; how was I meant to text you? Hope you have a good flight xx.
Talia chuckled softly to herself and typed her response.

I know. You never asked for it, Miss Putellas. Thought I'd see how you would contact me.
It wasn't long before Alexia responded, clearly quick to check her phone.

How was your flight?
You were testing me?
Talia smirked and replied.
Talia.S23
Very boring. I tried sleeping but didn't get as much as I wanted to. Had something on my mind.
She hesitated for a moment, then added
Of course, had to see how serious you were about this.
She didn't have to wait long for Alexia's reply.

I'm so serious, princesa.
So serious.
Talia's heart skipped a beat reading that, her smile growing wider as she walked through the airport.
What was on your mind, hermosa?
Talia bit her lip and, after a moment of thought, typed back.

A certain Spanish footballer.
She sent the message, feeling a warmth spread through her as she imagined Alexia's reaction on the other side of the world.

Alexia sat with her phone, typing and deleting messages over and over. She didn't know why she was so nervous, but the thought, the possibility of Talia thinking about her on her flight made her heart race. Finally, after a pause, another message came in from Talia.

You want to know who?
Alexia took a deep breath, her fingers hovering over the screen before replying.

Sí.
Talia's response came in quickly, teasing.

She's a Barcelona player, and she kissed me in the ocean... and then back at hers.
Alexia's pulse quickened as she read the words.

You were thinking about me?
Talia.S23
Yeah. I was waiting for your message.
Alexiaputellas
I panicked because you weren't there this morning, and then I saw the note, and I panicked again because I didn't have your number.
Talia.S23
I'm sorry. You just looked so peaceful; I didn't want to wake you.
Alexiaputellas
I wish you did.
She hesitated, then added
But I don't think I would've let you leave if you did.
