A/N: mention of child abuse warning and mention of death
The next day, the sun poured through the expansive windows of Talia's private jet, illuminating the luxurious cabin as they soared high above the clouds on their way to Australia. The interior was a masterpiece of modern design, blending comfort and sophistication. Rich, cream leather adorned the spacious seating, complemented by polished wooden accents that added a touch of warmth to the sleek environment. Soft, ambient lighting enveloped the space, casting a serene glow over everything.
At the center of it all was a large TV mounted on the wall, displaying the opening scenes of Harry Potter, a whimsical invitation into a world of magic. Talia had chosen the Spanish version specifically for Alexia, ensuring she could fully enjoy the story without feeling lost in translation. The playful banter and enchanting visuals drew them in, creating a cozy atmosphere that felt like a private escape from the world outside.
Curled up together on one of the plush sofa beds, they were swathed in a soft throw blanket that smelled faintly of vanilla and warmth. Alexia rested her head on Talia's shoulder, the rhythmic hum of the jet and the soft sounds of the movie blending together into a soothing backdrop. They shared a gourmet spread of snacks, featuring a delightful assortment of fresh fruits, artisanal cheeses, and delicate pastries that made the journey feel like a luxurious picnic in the sky.
Partway through the film, Alexia turned to Talia, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "You know," she began, gesturing to the opulent surroundings, "I never would have guessed this was your lifestyle."
Talia hummed softly, her gaze still focused on the screen but her heart warmed by Alexia's interest. "Not many do," she replied, her tone thoughtful. "I don't feel the need to flaunt it or show off. I don't need it all; it just makes life easier in a way." She paused, considering her next words carefully. "I know I'm privileged to have it. Many don't. So I try to give back in whatever ways I can."
Alexia looked up at her, intrigued. "What do you mean?"
Talia smiled gently, her expression sincere. "Well, I volunteer at local charities when I can, especially those that focus on youth sports. I want to help kids who might not have the same opportunities I did. And I contribute to organizations that support mental health awareness, especially in athletes." She glanced at Alexia, her eyes reflecting a deep appreciation for what she had. "It's important to me to use my privilege to help others, to make a difference, however small. I take advantage of my circumstances like anyone would, but I don't make it obvious, and I never try to put someone down for not having as much as me."
"That's really admirable," Alexia replied, genuinely impressed. "You're using your position to uplift others."
"It's just a perk," Talia continued, her voice humble. "It's nothing I can't live without. I'm just used to it now, I guess." She shifted slightly, wrapping her arm tighter around Alexia as the film continued to play, the characters' adventures echoing in the background.
The jet's interior, with its lavish furnishings and state-of-the-art technology, felt less like a showcase of wealth and more like a sanctuary where they could connect and escape the outside world together. The seats were spacious enough to stretch out in comfort, and the sound system enveloped them in high-quality audio that made every spell and incantation come to life. The gentle swaying of the plane combined with the laughter and heartwarming moments on screen made for an intimate setting.
As they settled back into their cozy spot, Alexia couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at Talia's grounded perspective. Here they were, wrapped in luxury, yet Talia remained so relatable and down-to-earth.

As the film played on, the soft light from the screen danced across Talia's face, highlighting her delicate features. Alexia felt Talia's grip loosen around her, and when she turned to look, she found the younger girl fast asleep, her breathing steady and deep. A cascade of soft, dark curls fell across Talia's forehead, and her lips were slightly parted, giving her an almost ethereal quality. She looked so peaceful, as if the world outside the jet had melted away, leaving only the tranquility of their little cocoon.
