𝐘/𝐧 𝐋/𝐧The morning had already arrived and I barely got an ounce of sleep last night even my Russian lullaby playlists couldn't make me sleep which was a first.
I've realized there were a lot of firsts involved with Shoto, the weird aura, the soul mixing, the not being able to sleep with my amazing playlists. He was starting to change a lot in less than a night and I was starting to regret taking this job.
I got dressed in my hero suit and tied my hair up as I left the house. After a while, I reached the agency and walked inside the huge building, the reception lady had pale blue skin with translucent arms she waved at me and ushered me to come over. "Hi honey, you must be L/n right?" She smiled widely "Yes, and you are?" I asked extending my arm to shake hers, I knew I would be seeing her every day I might as well make a good impression "My name is Toru Hagakure and my quirk is invisibility!" She shook my hand lightly. My father used to always say people's handshakes are windows to their souls 'Always keep your shakes firm and head high'
"That's nice I'm looking forward to seeing you around, do you know where I'm supposed to go?" I only then realized the beautiful architecture of the place, there were staircases instead of elevators and a deep red color carpet on the floor, the walls had paintings all over them and there were some Greek god's statues scattered symmetrically on the floor, looked more like a museum than a pro hero's headquarters. Hagakure knocked me out of my trance asking me to follow her.
I was led up a five-story staircase which Hagakure explained Shoto had used to make sure everyone stayed fit, he called it the first trial of joining his agency. We stopped in front of a big wooden door at the end of the hallway and she knocked on it "Sir, the new sidekick has arrived" she said and my palms started sweating as I hid them behind me nervously, I wasn't sure what to expect seeing him again and realized at that moment I wished he would have already forgotten me "Let her in" I heard his voice say. Oh god, I should've gone to Deku's agency.
"I'll leave you to it, if you need anything else you know where to find me!" Hagakure exclaimed leaving me alone once again, It took me exactly thirteen seconds of playing with my necklace nervously before I decided to finally go in.
His room was almost identical to the rest of the building with two leather sofas in the center leading to his desk a small wooden table in the middle and a long array of shelves with a variety of different items stacked on them... was that a pink mini fridge? I bit back a laugh at how out of place it looked in this dark office.
"Good afternoon Miss L/n, You're late," he said from his desk not glancing up from his computer with a pair of glasses. Holy shit his glasses were hot, that's when I finally looked at him and a shaky breath left my lips as I suddenly remembered exactly why I was so attracted to him in the first place.
Pictures didn't do him any justice he looked breathtaking in real life, as if realizing I still hadn't answered he looked up with a raised eyebrow, I squeezed my arm so tightly behind my back I think it started bleeding, his eyes were so dark and intense unlike when I saw him at the club with lights flashing everywhere and unlike when he lead me to his hotel room where I was lust driven and a bit too drunk to notice the power his eyes held.
"I'm very sorry, I got caught up in the traffic" I lied. "I hope punctuality won't be something I have to worry about working with you." he said, his voice husky "No, of course not Shoto" he closed his computer and took off his glasses as he got up. "Follow me Miss L/n"
As we walked out of the building I asked "What are we gonna be doing?" he glanced at me "Well you're my sidekick I expect you to come with me on my duties, Am I wrong?" I sighed "Yes but I should at least know what duties I'll be following you on to not be caught off guard, Am I wrong?"
—
"He was so rude! 'Am I wrong?' he said. What is his problem?!" I told Mai who invited me out to dinner when I texted her about how horrible my day was "Maybe he was just stressed out, don't worry about it too much I'm sure he'll improve tomorrow" she said as I aggressively ate her home cooked ramen "You know what, at the end of the day I didn't feel even slightly attracted to him, I felt the opposite actually" "Lies. Being a red flag is a turn on for you" she laughed and I threw a noodle at her "Hey!" "It doesn't matter I'm pretty sure he's married, he has a pink mini fridge in his office." I almost smiled as I remembered it "And that proves he's married how?" "It had a Hello Kitty sticker on it, it's either he's married or gay" This time she threw a noodle at me "Or it could mean he has amazing taste." "Sure babe keep being delusional"
The night went by smoothly, we ended up watching a movie and just binge-eating snacks, she always knew how to cheer me up and I needed a distraction from that awful day, Me and Shoto had argued about almost everything, and his new nickname for me was Miss Grasshopper because 'I'm a pesky animal who he couldn't get rid off, was unnoticeable, and had an annoying voice he couldn't tune out' His words not mine.
We were gonna meet Deku the next week and I was at least excited about that, I've always heard that he was the nicest out of the big three, Although I'm not sure that Dynamite is ruder than Shoto, I frankly didn't think that could be possible.
I fell asleep that night dreaming about Shoto's head on a stick.
