I was spent. This was the last villain of the day and Todoroki had left me to deal with his partner. Aura, my quirk was ideal for a hero or a villain it didn't matter, you could suck the emotions out of someone or give them whatever emotion you please, I even had to change the essence of their aura a couple of times, completely changing them as a person. You could also see how someone is feeling or if they're lying by the shade of their aura which takes up a lot of energy so I don't usually use it.
The villain jumped from building to building, I jumped after him struggling to catch up. I needed to get a bit close to use my quirk but considering how high he was going, using my quirk would send him falling to his death.
Suddenly the villain slammed against a wall, ice covering his body. I quickly came close enough and stole his energy til he passed out. "Aura, his partner is in the other alleyway! He's still fighting against my ice." Todoroki shouted coming closer "Could you lift me there?" I asked loudly, we were still up sixty feet. "Yeah, just hold on" he stated.
I got ahold of his arm and he lifted me onto his waist, my legs wrapped around his torso like I weighed nothing, my hormones were going crazy. I felt his cold breath on my neck as we went to the place with the other villain.
Once the whole fight was over Todoroki took us down to the ground and melted his ice still carrying me in his arms. Should I remind him to let me go or should I just stay here? It is comfortable but I'm cold. "Todoroki..." I muttered as he walked "Hm?" "You're very cold"
As if my words just registered in his head he turned a dark shade of red before his left side turned up in flames causing me to jump off of him, we just stared at each other before we both started laughing. "Would you... like to go to a cafe with me?" He said avoiding eye contact, I smiled before asking "Fuyumi's cafe?" He nodded.
We walked in a comfortable silence until a familiar brown cafe came into view. "Do you think they have soba here?" I asked holding the door open for him "They do, you still remember it's my favorite?" He replied eyes lighting up slightly. I loved this side of him. "Of course I do" Fuyumi greeted us at the counter. "Why are you working so late?" "Don't worry, I didn't have the day shift today" she replied to which Todoroki just frowned and shook his head. "What would you like to order?" Her eyes lit up at me brightly "I'll get whatever Todoroki gets" I smiled at her.
As we walked to a table in the corner, the one I sat at last time two cold soba bowls in hand Todoroki uttered something under his breath "What?" "You.. can um.. call me Shoto" he replied sitting across from me, the table was small enough so that I could see the red of his ears as he spoke "Or Todo or whatever nickname you made up.. it didn't bother me" I stared at him dumbfounded. Was this the same Todoroki that left me alone in that hotel room? The one who ignored me for a week? My heart pounded against my chest, he was so cute.
"Okay... Shoto you can call me Y/n" He smiled at me gently before he spoke up "Y/n"
Kill. Me. He accidentally said it low and raspy like his throat wasn't used to it, it shot right to my core "Y/n?" I realized I had accidentally zoned out fantasizing about his hot-ass voice "Hm?" "I was wondering if I could ask you a question?" "Of course" I took a bite of my soba "Why did you become a prostitute?" I choked on my food, I didn't expect him to ever acknowledge what happened in the past again. "If I answer, can I ask you a question?" He nodded
(Get ready for your backstory) "When I first got into UA I lived with my parents but in my second year they were killed by a villain while buying my birthday gift" I pointed at my necklace, and his eyes gleamed in realization "The rent was paid for the year thankfully but I couldn't survive without food or water and stocking up from school became impossible when I realized I needed to pay for my school fees. That's when...." I shuddered thinking about it "The first time I got paid for my body was when an upper-class man found me going into a food bank, he offered a generous amount to sleep with me and I was desperate. After that, he recommended me to his friends who introduced me to an agent and the rest is history" I spoke, speeding through the end.
When I looked up Todoroki's hands were closed tightly into fists his his aura turning into a deep red "You'll never go through that again Y/n. If you ever need anything, you tell me, no matter how much of an asshole I am, you always tell me. And I will always give you everything" I chuckled through the tears welling in my eyes "Pinky promise?" "Pinky promise."
