It had been a week since I and Shoto started dating and no one knew yet, we weren't hiding it. We just didn't announce it yet. But that would all change today, Shoto was hosting a casual dinner at his house with all our close friends and relatives and we'd casually announce it at the table which was my idea by the way, they're all probably gonna be shocked. I was so excited.
Obviously, I was given the duty of decorating his house, even though he insisted on paying someone to do it. All I can say is if I don't want to be a sidekick anymore I can be a badass architect, I transformed his empty mundane house into every pro hero's dream.
Shoto and I have the ideal relationship, we're both new to it and I think it might be the honeymoon period but sleeping and waking up together, brushing our teeth together, walking to work together, and just never leaving each other's side has made us closer than ever, every day I find out something new about him and help him heal his past traumas. I wish I could just kiss all his troubles away but I can't.
Thinking of the devil, he came up behind me snaking his arms around my waist, he is very touchy. "What do you think they'll say about us?" I asked nervously, I know most of the people from his circle including his sister but there's still his brother and his other friends, what if they don't think I'm good enough for him? "It doesn't matter what they say, it's none of their business" he replied blowing all my worries away. He was right.

The time had come, and we all sat around the wooden table eating and chatting. There was a good amount of people, also Shoto's friends were amazing. Me, Mai, and the girls all made plans for next week after talking for ten minutes, I had to push Shoto off me around them a dozen times to not spoil the surprise. He also got along well with my friends too well frankly I didn't expect him to be a social butterfly.
"Are you gonna do it or should I?" Shoto whispered comfortingly rubbing my thigh under the table "You do it please" I whispered back, nerves eating away at my earlier confidence, do people usually hold dinners to announce they're dating? Maybe this was a bad idea. Shit, it was too late Shoto got up!
He held up his wine glass and clinked it with a fork. "Hi... I'm not good at these things but I would like to say a toast" I want the ground to swallow me up. "Firstly I want to thank my girlfriend for hosting this dinner," he said it.
Hoots and whistles sounded around the table before quieting down, okay that went easier than expected? No questions? Shoto continued with his surprisingly normal sweet speech. I turned to Mina who was sitting next to me "Are you shocked?" I asked her with full curiosity, she turned to me with a confused look on her face "About what, honey?" Seriously? "About me and Shoto dating, it was a secret- well not a secret but-" Her pink skin reddened as she burst out laughing before turning to Kirishima.
"Kiri, did you know that Y/n and Todoroki were together?" She asked the red-haired boy "Huh? Yeah of course I did! Did you not?" He said before turning to me "I was going to tell you how manly your relationship was before but I forgot!" He exclaimed smiling at me. "Did everyone know??" I asked exasperated "Know what?" Kirishima asked innocently "That me and Sho were dating." "Why were we not supposed to?" I sighed.
Denki entered the convo "We were all talking about how lucky Todoroki was to date you in the group chat last week" He winked and Jirou stabbed him in the arm "I think you both are lucky to have each other, sorry for eavesdropping" she said cooly to me "Can you extras shut up?! You're so loud!" Bakuhoe added "It's okay Kacchan, I don't think y/n knew we knew" Izuku comforted him "Izuku! You knew too?!" I asked. What is happening?
The toast had ended during the conversation, and Shoto was also interested in it. Mai muttered "At least I knew when and how it happened before everyone" She chuckled, and they all turned to her "We knew two weeks ago!" They said she cackled. "They weren't even dating two weeks ago you dumbasses" "I thought they were dating a month ago" Fuyumi unexpectedly admitted.
That's how Shoto and I discovered that everyone thought we were dating before we even dated. So we explained our cute love story to them, I explained it while Shoto smiled.
