Honing the Heart

Long demolition of the heart,
Heard a few cracks of breaking.

Many can’t hear,
Only the soul can
Collect the dust.

Reassemble the pieces
For a permanent break,
To mend and reshape them.

Hone the fragments
Into an indestructible shield,
Adorned with pretty thorns,

Black to guard it,
Rejecting demise,
Denying fear.

Disagree with wrath,
Seek no revenge.
Listen, the long journey

Isn’t a mere single step
But a feeling of height and strength,
Leaping into the art of the world,
Losing track of storms and stones.
