Shrushti woke up to the soft sound of birds chirping outside her window, their melodic tunes gradually pulling her from the depth of sleep. As she slowly opened her eyes, the sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow in the room. She lay there for a moment, still sleepy, and as she tried to move, she felt a dull ache in her head- a reminder of the previous night.

Her thoughts began to drift back to the cocktail party, and with a sudden flash of memory, everyone came rushing back.

She remembered how Veda came to her and spiked her drink and after drinking that, she became everything but Shrushti. How she had changed the soft, background music to something loud and lively, she cringed slightly as she remembered how she dragged Veda and her other friends onto the dance floor.

She let out a small groan, covering her face with her hands as the memories continued to play out. It was all so unlike her, and yet, in that moment, it had felt freeing, exhilarating even. But now, in the clear light of morning, she couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed by her own behavior.

Sitting up in bed, she rubbed her temples, trying to soothe the lingering headache. She knew she couldn't change what had happened, and a part of her even smiled at the thought of how much fun she had, despite it being completely out of character.

The day passed in a blur of activity, with everyone caught up in the whirlwind of preparations. The house was a hive of energy, filled with the sounds of laughter, chatter, and the occasional call for help. The decorators were busy transforming the space, stringing up lights, arranging flowers, and ensuring that every corner exuded the festive spirit of the upcoming wedding.
