The recording light blinked red as Drea leaned into the microphone, her voice smooth and confident as it filled the studio.

Drea POV:
"Welcome back to another episode of Pour Minds, where we're keeping it real about life, love, and everything in between. I'm your host Drea Nicole and today we're diving into a topic that's close to my heart: the importance of mental health and self reflection."

I paused, letting my words sink in. My audience loved me for these moments— when I was open, honest, and unafraid to tackle the hard stuff. I wasn't just a podcaster; I was a guide, leading people through their struggles by sharing my own experiences.

"It's so easy to get caught up in the hustle, in chasing success, that we forget to take care of our minds. If we don't make time to reflect, to understand our emotions and triggers, we can't grow. And growth, y'all, is everything ." I said, my tone passionate but calm.

I built my brand on balance, I used my platform to uplift others while also pushing them to look inward.

"I'm not just talking about surviving; I'm talking about thriving. But thriving starts with facing the parts of ourselves that we'd rather ignore. Trust me, I've been there. I know how hard it is to look in the mirror and not like what you see but that's where the work begins."

I wrapped up the episode with a heartfelt message encouraging my listeners to take small steps toward their mental well being, reminding them that they were never alone in their struggles.

"And remember we're all a working progress. Be kind to yourself." With that, I signed off, the recording light flickered off. I leaned back in my chair satisfied with the conversation I'd just had with my audience. For me, this was more than just a job. This was my purpose.

Remy Ma POV:This event was so much different than what I'm used to

Remy Ma POV:
This event was so much different than what I'm used to. I'm used to loud, ghetto club events while this one is calm, and sophisticated. I was a little uncomfortable because this is definitely out of my comfort zone but my team insisted that I show up after the fight at the club.

"Think of this as a chance to give back, it's good for your image Remy" my publicist said

I reluctantly agreed, but now that I'm here I feel out of place. The room was filled with uppity attendees, sipping champagne and having conversations.

I wasn't here for the small talk or the networking. I was here because I was told it was the right move. Yet, I couldn't help but feel the eyes on me, judging me, questioning my presence.

As I scanned the room, my gaze landed on the stage where a woman with a calm, commanding presence was speaking. Drea Nicole. I've heard of her— everyone had. She was the go to for wisdom on mental health and self care, the complete opposite of what I was. Something about the way she spoke caught my attention.

Omniscient POV:
Drea was mid sentence, her words flowing effortlessly as she addressed the crowd. "Every single one of you has the power to change your story, you're not defined by your past, but by the choices you make today and everyday moving forward. So choose to be better, choose to grow, and most importantly choose to believe in yourself."

Remy couldn't help herself. The words struck a nerve, stirring up feelings she wasn't ready to confront but before she could stop herself, she muttered loud enough for those around her to hear, "yeah cause it's that easy, right?" The room grew silent as heads turned toward Remy.

Drea paused, her eyes locking onto Remy's from across the room. There was no anger in her gaze, just a steady, calm understanding that caught Remy off guard.

Drea addressed Remy directly, her voice unwavering "it's not easy and it's not supposed to be. But it's possible. I'm living proof of that. We all have our own battles, and I'm not here to pretend that mine are the same as yours. But what I do know is that change is worth the fight, even when it feels impossible."

The tension in the room was palpable, but there was something else too— an undeniable spark between the two women, a mutual respect hidden beneath the surface of their exchange.

Remy was used to confrontation, but this wasn't like anything she'd experienced before. Drea wasn't backing down, and for the first time in a long time Remy found herself at a loss for words.

The audience sensing the intensity of the moment, remained silent. Drea, composed gave Remy a small nod, acknowledging her without pushing any further.

Then, she smoothly returned to her speech as if nothing had happened leaving Remy standing there conflicted.

As the event came to a close, Remy stood by the exit , avoiding the people who were eager to take pictures with her and shake her hand. She needed a moment to process what had just happened. The brief exchange with Drea had rattled her in a way she hadn't expected.

Drea, now offstage was making her way through the crowd politely engaging with those who approached her. She seemed completely at ease but when her eyes met Remy's across the room there was a flicker of something— curiosity maybe.

Without thinking, Remy found herself moving toward Drea. They met in the middle of the room, the noise of the event fading into the background as they faced each other.

"Are you always that calm under pressure?" Remy asked, her tone a mix of genuine curiosity and a little bit of defensiveness.

Drea smiled "I've had a lot of practice. You?"

Remy chuckled, shaking her head "not really my thing but you handle that pretty well."

"Thanks" Drea replied, her eyes studying Remy "you've got a lot on your mind."

Remy shifted uncomfortably, not used to this kind of direct, yet non confrontational approach. "Yeah you could say that."

Drea nodded, the silence between them was thick with unspoken words. There was something about Drea that intrigued Remy, something that made her want to linger even though every instinct told her to walk away.

"I'm glad you came tonight, it's important, showing up." Drea said

Remy looked at her, feeling an unfamiliar warmth in her stomach. "Yeah, maybe it is"

Without another word, Drea offered a nod of her head before turning to leave but not before their eyes met one last time.

Remy watched her go, the spark of their encounter still buzzing the air.

As she left the event, Remy couldn't shake the feeling that this was only the beginning of something— something she wasn't quite ready to understand but couldn't ignore.
