The next morning, Remy and Drea woke up to the sound of their alarm buzzing. They had a full day planned, but they wanted to start it right. Drea stretched, her arms reaching up towards the ceiling as she let out a soft yawn. Remy watched her with a smile, feeling her heart swell with love. She couldn't believe how lucky she was to have Drea by her side.
"Morning, babe," Remy said softly, brushing a strand of hair out of Drea's face.
Drea smiled sleepily. "Morning, love," she replied, leaning in for a quick kiss. "What's on the agenda today?"
Remy grinned. "I was thinking we could start with a nice breakfast. How about we go to Atlanta Breakfast Club? I've been craving their chicken and waffles."
Drea's eyes lit up. "That sounds perfect," she said. "I could go for some shrimp and grits."
They got out of bed and quickly got ready, slipping into comfortable clothes. Drea pulled on a pair of leggings and a cropped hoodie, while Remy opted for jeans and a t-shirt. After a quick splash of water on their faces and a swipe of lip gloss, they were ready to go.
The drive to Atlanta Breakfast Club was quick, and they soon found themselves seated at a small table near the window. The restaurant was bustling with activity, the smell of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon filling the air. They placed their orders, then settled back to enjoy the lively atmosphere.
"So, what do you want to do after breakfast?" Drea asked, tapping her fingers lightly on the table.
Remy thought for a moment. "How about we check out Ponce City Market? We could do some shopping, maybe pick up a few things for the house."
Drea nodded, smiling. "I like that idea. We haven't been there in a while."
Their food arrived, and they dug in eagerly. The chicken and waffles were just as good as Remy remembered—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, with a perfect drizzle of syrup. Drea's shrimp and grits were creamy and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice.
As they ate, they talked about their plans for the rest of the day. After shopping, they would head back home to relax for a bit before going out for dinner. They wanted to try a new spot in town, and Drea had her eye on a trendy steakhouse she'd heard about from a friend.
After breakfast, they made their way to Ponce City Market. The place was buzzing with energy, filled with shoppers and families enjoying the weekend. They strolled through the various shops, stopping to look at clothes, home goods, and even some quirky art pieces.
Drea picked up a small painting of a sunset that caught her eye. "What do you think?" she asked, holding it up for Remy to see.
Remy smiled. "I love it. It would look great in the living room."
They continued shopping for a while longer, picking up a few more items—a couple of scented candles, a new set of wine glasses, and a plush throw blanket. By the time they were done, their arms were full of bags, and they were ready to head back home.
"Let's drop these off and chill for a bit," Remy suggested as they walked back to the car. "Then we can get ready for dinner."
Drea nodded, her eyes shining with excitement. "Sounds good to me. I'm looking forward to trying that new place."
They drove home, unloading their bags and putting their new purchases away. Drea placed the painting on the mantel, adjusting it until it was just right. Remy lit one of the new candles, filling the room with the warm scent of vanilla and sandalwood.
They spent the next few hours relaxing on the couch, watching a few episodes of their favorite show. Remy had her head in Drea's lap, and Drea gently ran her fingers through Remy's hair, a soft smile on her lips. It was these quiet moments that made everything feel perfect.
As the sun began to set, they decided to start getting ready for dinner. Drea chose a sleek black dress that hugged her curves perfectly, while Remy opted for a fitted button-down shirt and dark jeans. They both took their time getting ready, enjoying the process of dressing up for each other.
"Damn, you look good," Remy said as Drea finished putting on her earrings.
Drea grinned, turning to give Remy a playful twirl. "You're not so bad yourself," she replied with a wink.
They headed out to the steakhouse, eager to see what all the fuss was about. The place was dimly lit, with a chic, modern vibe. They were seated at a cozy table in the corner, and the waiter quickly brought over menus and took their drink orders.
Remy ordered a glass of red wine, while Drea opted for a classic cocktail. They browsed the menu, finally deciding on a few dishes to share—a juicy ribeye, a side of garlic mashed potatoes, and a fresh green salad.
As they waited for their food, they talked about their day, laughing and sharing stories. It felt good to be out, to be enjoying each other's company without any drama or stress.
When the food arrived, it was even better than they had hoped. The steak was perfectly cooked, the potatoes were creamy and rich, and the salad was crisp and refreshing. They savored each bite, taking their time and enjoying every moment.
"This is so good," Drea said between bites. "We need to come here more often."
Remy nodded in agreement. "Definitely. This place is a winner."
They finished their meal with a decadent chocolate dessert, sharing bites and stealing kisses across the table. By the time they left the restaurant, they were both feeling full and happy.
On the drive home, Drea reached over and took Remy's hand, squeezing it gently. "I had a great day," she said softly.
Remy smiled, her heart swelling with love. "Me too, babe. I love spending time with you."
When they got back home, they changed into something more comfortable and settled back on the couch. Remy turned on some music, and they cuddled up together, enjoying the peaceful end to a perfect day.
Drea sighed contentedly. "You know, I feel like we're in such a good place right now. Like everything is finally falling into place."
Remy nodded, kissing the top of Drea's head. "I feel the same way. I love where we are, and I love you."
Drea looked up at Remy, her eyes shining. "I love you too," she said softly. "And I can't wait to see what the future holds for us."
They stayed like that for the rest of the evening, wrapped up in each other's arms, feeling grateful for the love they shared. No matter what challenges came their way, they knew they could face them together. Because they had each other. And that was all they needed.
