2 days later:
Sonic was told that Tails was upset the night before and was forced to sleep over Tails place, leaving Shadow in the apartment alone.
waking up feeling a scene of loneliness, Shadow quickly got up and got himself ready for the day, realising then that he was so used to Sonic being around that it made him feel something was a miss when looking around his apartment.
Shadow: I guess he has truly grown on me
not wanting to be in there on his own a minute longer he Chaos controlled at GUN HQ to finish off his remaining paperwork before the party.
he was just about to finish when the commander arrived in his office and noticed that Shadow was there, holding a black suit in his arms and headed over to him
Tower: what the hell are you doing here, shouldn't you be at the party, everyone will be arriving soon
Shadow: I was just finishing the paperwork that you made me do and then I'll be there. do you know if Faker is there yet
Tower: he won't be arriving yet and you better put this on since you will be meeting the president, don't tell me that you are starting to miss your hubby already
Shadow scoffed at the commander as he handed him the last of his paperwork and snatched the suit off of him before he stormed out without saying another word
exiting the building and went back home to put the suit on to then appear in Station Square Park where he saw the endless amount of decor around him.
the park was filled with humans and mobians that were all gathering around the park, admiring all the lights, large tables full of food and drinks, tents, and flowers that surrounded the park as well as an area in front of the calm river with chairs in rows and a white carpet that was laid out on the grass.
Shadow: what the hell is this crap, I thought this is a party not....whatever this crap is?
he was going to find the president till Amy ran over towards him, frantically asking for help
Amy: Shadow quick, Sonic wanted me to take you to him, he seems to be upset with you for some reason
Shadow: huh? did he already arrive
Amy: yes and he needs you right now, let's go
Amy grabbed Shadow's arm and pulled him towards one of the tents

meanwhile Sonic, on the other hand, was up a couple of hours ago with Tails and Knuckle insisting on helping him get ready for the party
Sonic: Seriously you two, it's just a stupid party, why the heck do I have to get all dressed up for?
Tails: you are going to see the president today, so you gotta look your best
Knuckles: and also because your ex is going to be there too
Tails was helping the blue teen by timing his quills as he stopped and looked back at Knuckles with an unamused expression
