"Come on Artemis, we have to go!" Ava practically dragged the girl by her arm as the sprinted to her destination.
Considering that the fourth years had decided their O.W.L exams they only shared a handful of lessons together.
Those being potions, defence against the dark arts and charms.
However students were allowed to select however many they wanted to- Artemis had settled for divination, Care Of magical creatures and astronomy.
Wheras Ava had decided to (on top of the compulsory potions, charms and defence against the dark arts) take care of magical creatures - of course- divination and history of magic.

Today was their first lesson in defence against the dark arts at the O.W.L level.
It was a compulsory lesson, however this year the classes were separated into ability groups.
Which is why this particular lesson was majorly ravenclaw.

Not very diverse-

However, there were a handful of students who weren't Ravenclaw:
Artemis Black
Sirius Black
James Potter
Remus Lupin
Lily Evans
Severus Snape

The professor had decided to pair each student - who was not a Ravenclaw- with a student from Ravenclaw.
Artemis Black was Partnered with Xenophilous Malfoy, Emma Rose was partnered with Severus Snape, James potter was partnered with Barty Crouch jr, Sirius Black with Gilderoy Lockheart. Lily Evan's with Benji Fenwick, and Remus Lupin with Ava Weasley.

Their first assignment was to successfully transform a boggart from their worst fear to something hilarious using the spell 'Ridikolus'.

Each pair would be graded on efficiency and difference in form.
The first pair was Artemis Black and Xenophilous Malfoy. The two stood infront of the box containing the boggart. When it jumped out it morphed into something shocking.
Cygnus and Druella Black, Xenophilous -being a pure blood- understood the fear of one's own parents. He quickly interjected and performed the spell, turning the boggart into a set of clowns.

Everyone's eyes were trained to Artemis, as though she were a caged animal in a zoo. She excused herself and the professor allowed Xenophilous to go after her.

Considering how worried she was about her friend, time had gone quickly and Ava hadn't really paid much attention to anyone else's boggart. The pair before Ava and Remus went up and just as they cast the spell Remus whispered to her.
"Please can I perform the spell?"
Ava didn't really think much of it, after all it wasn't like her biggest fear was going to actually kill her.

The pair stepped up, the boggart shifting into- an unusual shape. Her family, glaring at her with such hatred it made her shiver. But there was something else. A small child was stood at the feet of her mother, a crying expression on his lips as he mouthed something.

She became so worked up at the sight of her biggest fear that she barely even noticed Remus stepping infront of her to cast the spell. If she would have known that was her biggest fear she wouldn't have taken the hit.

Remus was incredibly relieved, however his heart dropped as he saw the look on his partners face.
He caused this.
The moon would have appeared, which would have only hurt himself. But in his own act of selfishness he had upset her.

The professor dismissed the class a few pairs after Ava and Remus as it seemed everyone got the jist of the spell, however Remus felt like he had to do something.

Two days after the boggart incident was Ava's birthday. December 7th.

Since it was a Sunday, Ava had chosen to go to hogsmede with her friends.

Artemis had given her a box of peppermint toads, Emma had given her a bag full of Fudge and her family had sent her some galleons and an assortment of gifts. Arthur's wife Molly even knitting her a jumper with her initial on it.
