Ava, Emma and- unusually- Artemis were in the library once again. Studying for their up and coming defence against the dark arts exam. It was a rather slow day, and nothing much had occurred.

It was raining outside, which is why the library was so crowded. Hundreds of students crammed themselves into the library in hopes of staying away from the rain. However this disrupted many study sessions.

The loud hum of the library distracted Ava, and what finally caught her attention was the snapping of fingers in her Direction.

"Weasley, what are you doing? We still have to finish this project!"
The Slytherin snapped her fingers again, a look of displeasure evident on her face.
"Sorry, I can't focus in here"
The girls sighed, until the third spoke up.
"How about we go somewhere more private? I'm sure slughorn won't mind us using his classroom if it's free."

The girls nodded in a silent agreement, something -they'd come to realise- which was akin to a full blown answer.

Making their way through the halls was like trying to board the train. Students flooded the hallways like a tsunami of wizards and witches. All four houses congregated together like a large puzzle piece.

Although despite the crowds they eventually made it to the potions classroom, unfortunately professor slug horn was midway through a lecture about the effects of love potions and how to use them wisely.

And so they ventured on, looking for a place to seek refuge.
"I do know somewhere we could go- but it's kind of seclud-"
"Perfect take us there."

Emma shrugged and made a harsh left, follow by a harsh right and by the time they were in a small cupboard they had lost track of all the twists and turns.
"Down here" Emma pulled up one of the stones and revealed an open stair case.
"Down we go" she began, whispering a soft 'lumos' as she made her way down the stairs. Followed by the others.

The walk was quite long considering it was in a cellar. In fact it may have been around ten minutes which was very unusual for a hiding spot.

"Where are you taking us Rose?" Artemis spat, clearly agitated by the length of the trail.
"To the shrieking shack, it's always quiet and it's a safe place to be."
The red head sighed softly, the only thing keeping her going was the thought of being able to finish this essay in private.

"Why do they call it the shrieking shack?
"I don't really know to be honest, maybe it actually screams?"
The red head and the ravenette stopped in their tracks .
"What do you mean you don't know?"
"You're telling me you've never been there before!?"

Emma stood still, no expression present on her face.
"Well I've read about it, I heard it was here so it can't be all that dangerous"

The two other girls stood there in disbelief, what if she was leading them into the nest of some arachnapods?!!

"Trust me it's fine"

"It doesn't look like much but it's fine."
"Doesn't look like much? It looks like some muggle house was set on fire!" Artemis' words flew off her tongue like venom from a snake, she felt disgusted to be stood in such a room.

Ava, on the other hand was already writing, scribbling and noting information from textbooks down.
They only had one more passage to read and learn, boggarts.

"So they don't look like anything until you see them?" Artemis began, boredom laced her tone like almonds in a poisoned pie.
"Well we're not actually sure, they could look like something but we will never be able to comprehend them."
Ava piped up, boggarts were strange creatures- they existed purely to terrify people. Much like Artemis right now.

"Look at the walls, looks like some beast was locked in here."
Artemis lazily raised a hand to graze the scratch marks in the walls. Ava did the same and noticed something unusual.

"Look at these marks, they look like human claw marks but much bigger, I think it's a werewolf-"
She trailed off, noticing a carving on the skirting board of the room.

"It was probably someone who came years ago, they've scratched their names onto the wood, see"
The redhead pointed her finger at the carvings on the wood.
'Moony, padfoot, worm tail and prongs'
Strange nicknames.

"Anyways, let's just finish this essay, it's the last one before summer anyways so the quicker the better."
