Entry 19:

Mateo has been hanging out with me a lot this past week, we've not left each other's sides. I've decided to reach out to my sister and start talking to her. She seems really cool. Her name is Charlotte and she goes by Lottie. We talked the other day about how we have names from The Princess and the Frog and bonded over the fact it's both our favorite Disney princess. I talked with Astra about the whole family reunion thing and she really thinks I should go. Harbor also told me I should go. He said it would help me figure out who I was and overall understand my 'roots' and where I come from. I told them both I didn't want to leave Mateo or them behind to face it all alone but they reminded me they stand behind me.

The new map Abyss's arena has been coming along pretty well. It's taking forever to build though. Killjoy said that all the maps' arena's take forever to build b

ut that's just because they are making sure everything is flawless. She told me that by cutting corners you get a collapsing arena like what happened to Sunset. Speaking of Sunset, the arena there was just restored so that's good.

Clove has been teaching me how to play dungeons and dragons, and I'm going to be honest, it is so hard to follow sometimes. There are so many rules and numbers it's actually crazy. But it's also kind of fun to escape into a fantasy world where I can be whoever I want. I guess it's a bit like real life right now, trying to figure out who I am and where I fit in.

"Eves!" Mateo called out through the bathroom door. "I forgot a towel can you grab me one?"

Evie rolled her eyes playfully, getting up from her desk where she was writing in her journal. "Yeah, give me a second."

"Thank you hermosa," Mateo shouted through the door, shivering slightly from the cold air out of the shower. Evie grabbed a towel and knocked on the bathroom door, Mateo opening it and taking the towel, smiling. "You're the best."

"Yeah, yeah," Evie replied playfully rolling her eyes. Mateo grabbed her arm and pulled her towards him, giving her a kiss on the forehead. Evie laughed, her cheeks warming at the affectionate gesture. "You know, you could try remembering a towel next time," she teased, poking him gently in the ribs.

Mateo grinned, wrapping the towel around his waist. "But then I wouldn't have an excuse to see you," he countered, giving her a mischievous look.

Evie shook her head, amused. "You're impossible."

"And yet you still put up with me," Mateo shot back with a wink "I'll be out in a minute. Don't miss me too much."

Evie chuckled, heading back to her desk. "I'll manage," she called over her shoulder as Mateo closed the bathroom door.

As she sat down, she picked up her journal again, smiling to herself. The little moments with Mateo always made her feel warm and loved. Picking up her pen, she added a bit more to her journal.

P.S. Mateo shirtless is something that I will never get tired of seeing.

She closed the journal, tucking it away in her desk drawer. As she did, she heard the bathroom door open and Mateo step out, a cloud of steam following him.

He was still drying his hair with the towel, looking refreshed and relaxed. He ran a hand through his damp hair, smiling as he joined Evie. "Ready to go?"

Evie nodded, slipping on her shoes. "Yup. Out of all the kids, who do you think is going to cause the most trouble today?"

"Hmm, Wings has been pretty good recently. Too good. Definitely wings." Mateo replied, grabbing his shoes. Wings angrily shouted from Evie's bed.
