Chapter 30 - Avery

"Chase!" I come and hug him. Chase Fox, my brother in law. Even though he well aware that my relation with his mom aren't that good. But he is a good brother to me. And I'm thankful God for that.

"How are your feeling, Ave?"

"Perfect," I smile. Especially after I stopped all the medicine Laila gave me. I don't even want to touch it now I know she has other motives with my family.

"Good. By the way, did Bradley tell you that I'm going to stay here few days?" He points at his luggage.

"Yeah, the room is ready for you. And really, you don't need permission to come here."

Chase grins and walks inside with me. Damian is playing on the mat. "Hey buddy!" Chase comes closer.

I sit next to Damian on the floor. "Say hi to your uncle Chase, Damian."

Damian just look at Chase and leans to me. I've been trying to be around Damian whenever I can. I still let Laila to take him to sleep, since he wants her. But I think Damian is getting familiar with me.

"Hey, he is getting okay with you!" Chase says.

I smile. "Yeah, he is," I reply. I know Chase knows about my latest situation. Bradley often updates to his family about our family. I don't mind at all since I know they are here to protect us. Not to mention the brothers are so tight.

Damian grabs my shirt and tries to stand up. I gasp. "Come on, Damian! You can do it! Chase, record it."

"What?"  Chase takes out his phone.

"If he can stand up by himself it's going to be his first time to stand up. Come on, Damian!" I let him set his pace. And slowly he lets go my shirt and stands by himself. Wiggly a bit and fall. But he laughs, maybe because Chase and I cheer at him.

I hug him. "Congrats Damian!" He laughs cheekily.

Chase ruffles his hair. "Well done, boy!"

I smile. "Did you get it?"

Chase nods. "I'll send it to you and Bradley."

"Thank you."

Bradley said he will come back home early for dinner at home with Chase. I already asked the cook to prepare everything Bradley needs to cook. He always tried to cook for his family since it's not a secret that everyone loves his cook.

"I'm home," Bradley comes to the living room. Chase is doing some work at his room while Clair is packing her snacks for tomorrow field trip and Damian is sleeping in his crib. Laila? She is in her room, said she needs to rest because she isn't feeling well. Earlier she was here with me and Chase, but I feel like Chase deliberately ignored her.

"Hey," I smile and come closer to him. I don't want to fight with Bradley.

Bradley leans and kisses me. "How's your day?"

"All good. You?"

"Okay." Bradley caresses my face. "I don't want to fight with you, Avery."

"Me too." I hug him tightly.

Bradley kisses my hair. "I love you."
