"Don't worry, I'll take care of them, Brad," Laila smiles at me.
I don't feel 100% relief she agreed to help us, but I have no choice. I have a company that needs me, Avery needs to have her rest for her health, Bella has to go back to her charity, and someone has to take care of Clair and Damian.
I nod. "Thanks, Laila," I say and leave Laila with Bella and Clair. I go to my room. Avery is there with Damian. "Babe," I call Avery.
Avery smiles at me while humming sweet tune to our baby. I sit next to her and kiss her. "You feel better?"
"Yes. I think in a week I can start my normal routine."
I nod. "Still, I need you to focus on your health first. I know you don't trust Laila, but at this time we need someone to look after our kids. I promise will find helpers as fast as I can."
She caresses my face. "Don't worry. I'll be fine. Just focus with your projects. And I haven't met Laila for almost 6 years. Maybe she changed."
"Hope springs eternal," I mumble. Avery chuckles and kisses Damian forehead.
I lean and kiss her mouth. She responds to me, this is good, these few weeks she barely kiss me back. "Guess, I'll be the judge to see whether you can resume to your daily routine," I grin wickedly at her.
She giggles and bites my lower lip. "Tonight, maybe?"
I laugh and kiss her again. Now I believe my wife is getting her energy back. "Not gonna do it until I'm sure you are okay, you cut my 2 years' life because you fainted last time!" I pull her to me and nuzzle her neck, smelling her apple soap she always use.
She caresses my hair. "I promise to take care of myself better."

"I still prefer you to find a nanny to help Avery, though," Bella says to me, we are on the way to the airport. Bella will fly with our cousin, Madeline Hall to Southeast Asia today for their collaboration charity's project.
"Yeah, I will. Give me 2-3 days. There are 3 projects waiting for my decision. I need to make sure of it."
"Mr. Fox needs to earn money," she teases.
I chuckle. "Of course, otherwise how can I fund your charity projects?" I tease her back.
She laughs.
"By the way I got a proposal for a project."
She raises her eyebrow. "If you need an advice, better ask Chase. I prefer you give me money for charity."
I chuckle. "Avery saw the proposal back then. She said she knows this guy, the guy who owns the company. And she told me you also know him too."
"This guy wants to sell his company?"
"No, he sent a proposal to me. He has an island that he plans to build a theme park island like Disney. He wants my connection, so he proposed for share profits. I havem't checked this giy thoroughly, but I know he is a very smart business analyst. Some of my clients talked highly about him."
"I see."
"Looks like it's going to be a potential business. It's a huge investment, but this guy is load so I don't think money will be the problem."
She shrugs. "Maybe. Who is this guy?"
"His name is Scott Adams."

"Welcome back, Bradley!" My assistant, Aaron, welcomes me.
I nod at him and go to my office. "I can't stay too long in the office today."
"I know, I already sort your schedule from the most important ones. How is Avery, by the way?"
I sigh and sit on my seat. "Post pregnancy eclampsia. We just found out 2 days ago. Thanks to my stubborn wife, she didn't tell me she got worse all this time." Hating myself for not forcing Avery to check with the doctor earlier.
"Good thing you found it before it's too late."
"Yeah... the doctor said within few weeks Avery should be able to do her routine."
Aaron nods. "Just make sure she gets some rest. My sister-in-law had it."
I frown. I remember his sister-in-law passed away few weeks after gave birth last year. "What do you mean?"
"She had eclampsia too. But she was too stubborn to take a rest. Fell from stairs, internal bleeding and..."
Holy shit!!!

"Really, Bradley?" My wife's voice screeches from the phone. I just told her that I want her to stay bedrest for a week or even more if she gets worse. And I already instructed Laila to handle everything about Clair and Damian.
"Yes. Please, Ave. I don't want anything to happen to you." I cannot live without you. It scares the shit out of me to know that eclampsia can kill her.
"Brad, this is exaggerated," she sighs.
"I know. But please for the peace of my mind."
"Only for a week," her voice lower. She gives in.
"Yes, of course. Once the doctor clears you out, you can do your routine."
"Okay, then," she says defeated.
"Thanks, sweetheart. Now I have to go back to my documents. And I need you to rest."
"Okay." I can tell from her voice she is not happy. But I can't live without her. Clair can't. Damian can't.
My phone rings right after I ended my call with Avery. "Hi, Mom!" My relationship with Mom still okay, we were so close back then but when I chose to move to L. A. I know she thought I chose Avery over her. Yes, I did choose move far from New York for Avery, but I never chose her over Mom. It's not a competition. I still love Mom and will always love her. And somehow over the years Mom is getting okay with Avery, I'm sure she can see how great Avery is. And for my aunt Belinda, I honestly say I don't give a damn.
"Hey Brad, heard from Bella that Avery still not okay?"
"Yeah, but she already checked to the doctors. She is at home, bed rest."
"Bed rest? Did she faint again?"
"Oh no Mom. But I asked her to."
"She agreed with you??"
I chuckle. Mom knows Avery is a hands on mother. "Nope, but I kind of force her."
Mom chuckles. "That girl needs you to remind her that she also needs to rest."
"Exactly!"
"You want me to come and help?" She asks. I know Mom doesn't want to overstep, and I respect her for that.
"Yes, I do. But I know you have your anniversary trip with Dad. I don't want to disturb you."
"Hush! we can detour to New York for a while before we start the vacation. I don't think your dad will mind. He misses Clair."
I grin. "That would be great!"
