I park my Bentley at Clair's school and walk to the gate. I'm 15 minutes early.
Bradley: How's Damian? Did he kick the doctor when they want to inject him?
Avery: he threw the pen to the doctor's forehead. 😔
I laugh. My son will definitely protect his mom and sister in the future.
Bradley: he surely knows how to protect himself.
Avery: I kept saying sorry to the doctor. Don't want him to ban Damian.
Bradley: LOL! I'll call Landon if he banned our son.
Avery is in The Mayfield Hospital, head by Landon Mayfield, my friend.
Avery: Don't forget to pick up Clair, and the ice cream date with her.
Bradley: I'm at school already. You sure you don't want to join our ice cream date?
Avery: Damian is sleeping. Go have fun with Clair!
Bradley: Okay babe!
I smile, she is warmer with me. Avery always has soft spots when we talk about the kids. It's like she can't stay mad at me if we discuss about them.
I put my phone in my pocket and my eyes catch a man figure. Isn't that... Rio Arden?
How the fuck is he doing in my daughter's school? The biodata about him said that he doesn't have kids nor wife. And he definitely not live in California. What the hell?
He looks around me and his eyes lock with mine.
I walk to him like a cheetah comes to its pry. How the hell is he here?
"Rio Arden," I say curtly.
"Bradley Fox." And he knows me. We never met before.
"What are you doing here? You don't have any kid in this school."
"I'm looking for Avery." And he has the audacity to look back at me.
I raise an eyebrow. "My wife?"
"Yes, I need to talk with her."
"About?"
He sighs. "Look, I just need a minute or two with her. I guess I won't see her today. Good day, Mr. Fox." He is about to go but I pull his arm, a bit hard but any man would be able to handle it. He's not that man since he almost stumble. Not my fault Avery's ex is weak.
Introduce you to one and only Bradley Fox, my character who became irrational when it comes to his wife's ex.
Shut up!
"Mr. Fox," he warns me, fixing his jacket.
"What do you want from my wife?"
"It's none of your business."
I chuckle mockingly. "Oh it is my business. My wife, my business."
"I don't have time to talk with you," he tries to walk away.
I pull him, this time harder and his back bump to the wall. "You will tell me why you are looking for my wife," my voice is getting harder. "Don't test my patience, Rio Arden. You won't like it," I warn him.
"I have rights to not answering you, Bradley Fox. Touch me one more time, I'll sue you. And a lot of people are here. I don't think even with your Fox name you can get away with it."
"Stay away from my wife, Rio Arden. I don't share my wife. Last warning," I say darkly.
He glares and leaves.

I said to Clair we canceled our ice cream date. She kept nagging to me on the way home. With Rio Arden, and now Clair's complains, my head is about to explode.
Clair opens the car's door without waiting for me and runs to the house. "Mommmyyyyy!!"
I follow her. "Clair!"
Clair hugs Avery and cries. Avery frowns and looks at me. "What happened?"
I inhale deeply. "Go to your room, Clair!"
"No, I want Mommy!" She keeps crying to Avery. Avery hugs her tightly. "What happened, Clair?"
"Daddy canceled the ice cream date!"
Avery frowns deeper. "Why?" She looks at me.
I shrug. "Because I'm too tired after talking to Rio Arden," I say sarcastically. I can't help it.
"Rio?" Avery asks, confused.
"Yes,Rio. He came to MY daughter school and looking for MY wife."
Clair gasps from my loud voice. I don't think she understands what I'm saying. But I never ever raise my voice in front of her.
Avery glares at me. "Clair, Daddy is kind of having a bad mood, why don't you go to your room and change your clothes. I will go to your room soon."
Clair nods and runs.
Avery comes to me with a glare. Back then she told me we cannot argue in front of our kids. I know that. But I can't hold it any longer.
"Why is Rio in Clair's school, Avery?"
"I don't know. And why you have to make Clair scared?"
"She will be fine, if we are fine. But now I doubt it. Your ex went to our kid's school. How did he know Clair's school? and it reminds me that you didn't tell me your conversation with Rio in the cafe back then, or any other time you guys met up."
"What are you trying to say, Bradley?"
"I'm not sharing my wife, Avery." I glared at her.
"And I'm not sharing my husband too!" She glares back at me.
"This is NOT about me, Avery. Rio Arden—"
"Rio and I are friends. Nothing to be worried about. Unlike you and Laila!"
"For fuck's sake, Avery! Laila and I are friends. I never think of her more than a friend."
"But she said otherwise."
"What do you mean? If it's another—"
Avery shows me a picture of me and Laila. I frown. I never took a picture just with her. "What is this?"
"You tell me. Laila sent it to me."
I frown. "But I never take any picture with her."
Avery's tears fall freely and she sits down. Her body language tells me that she is tired and... give up? Hell no!
"I'm so tired, Brad."
"Avery, this is so much to take. A lot of things happened at once." I sit next to her. "Come on, there is nothing between Laila and me."
She looks at me with sadness. "Will you trust me if I say there is nothing between me and Rio?"
I stare at her. I want to say yes to show her that I trust her, so she has to trust me back. But I can't...
"You can't. So do I, Bradley," Avery says softly and leaves me. I can hear the finality in her voice.
