I walked through town glancing through the windows of shops as I passed by. It was the first day of winter, so I figured this would be a good time to get out and walk around. Maybe I'd even find some Christmas gifts for my family and friends.
An hour after I had started my walk, it began snowing. I kept walking, enjoying the new conditions, but soon after, it quickly turned into a snow storm.
People frantically ran to their cars or into nearby stores and restaurants to get out of the weather before it worsened. I saw a coffee shop across the street and figured that would be the best place for me to wait till the snow storm calmed down.
I quickly ran across the street and into the coffee shop. There weren't too many others inside, just a few couples and people on their own, then the three workers behind the counter.
I figured I would be here for a while, so I thought I might as well order a drink. I walked up to the register and waited for someone to come take my order. After about 2 minutes of waiting, one of the workers started to approach.
"Hi! How can I help you?" The worker asked with a big smile on his face.
I smiled too, "Hi, can I just get a hot chocolate please?"
"Of course. Can I get a name for the order?"
"It's Y/N."
"Y/N... that's a really pretty name." He looked up at me through his eyelashes for a brief moment before returning to his machine.
"T-Thank you." I stuttered out, caught off guard by his sudden compliment.
"I'll bring it out to you shortly." He smiled at me once more before turning to help his co-workers on making the orders.
I looked around the shop for an empty table and saw a small two-person one in the corner next to the window. I walked over and sat down, looking out the window and watching the snow to pass the time.
After a few minutes, I started to look around the coffee shop. It had a nice calm and homey ambiance. I could picture myself coming here more often to relax and maybe even to get some work done.
My eyes drifted towards the bar where the workers made all the drinks. They seemed to enjoy working here. All of them were very calm and relaxed and even shared a laugh or two amongst each other.
Eventually my eyes landed on the guy who took my order. I had to admit, he was a very handsome looking man. I analyzed all his features, well what I could from sitting at this distance. As my eyes trailed up his body and landed on his face, I saw he had a small smile and was looking in my direction.
I quickly looked back out the window and tried to hide my embarrassment. I just hoped I wasn't staring at him for too long. He probably thinks I'm a creep.
Soon after, I heard footsteps reaching my table.
"A Hot Chocolate for Y/N." The guy set my drink down on the table, not failing to give me a slight smirk from the earlier event.
"Thank you..." I finally looked at the name tag on his apron. "Mingyu."
"You're welcome." He winked at me before walking back and taking someone's order at the front.
I blushed a little. It seemed like he was enjoying making me flustered.
I sighed and took out my phone, aimlessly scrolling through social media while taking the occasional sip of my hot chocolate.
I noticed the time had already reached 10:30pm. Normally I'd be at home by now and getting ready for bed, but the snow storm hadn't let up whatsoever. I texted my roommate to let them know I was stuck out in the storm and wouldn't be home until late.
