"Guys can we please go in there!" I pointed to a cute little flower shop across the street.
"Y/N, we're on vacation in another country and yet you still want to go in a flower shop?" One of my friends jokingly asked.
"Yes! Just for five minutes, I just want to go look I won't even buy anything."
"Okay fine, we'll wait in the coffee shop next door." My other friend said before parting ways with me.
I walked across the street and admired the outside of the flower shop. The flowers were showcased in such a beautiful manner and arranged so perfectly, catching the eyes of those who pass by.
I walked in and was greeted by a sweet old woman who was carefully watering some of the flowers around the shop. My nose was hit with the most amazing and fresh smell I'd ever experienced. This shop by far had the most beautiful and sweet smelling flowers.
I continued to walk around, taking a few pictures here and there, especially if it were a flower I'd felt I hadn't seen before.
I stopped in front of a long row of flowers in completely awe of how many different varieties they could fit in this tiny shop.
"Excuse me?" I heard a voice to my left. I turned and was met with a man who had the most angelic features I'd ever seen. I blushed a bit at this thought.
"Do you think you could help me pick some flowers?" He asked smiling at me a bit. I don't know why but I got a little sad. Of course someone who looks like him would have a partner already.
"Yes of course." I gave him a small smile and moved to stand closer to him. "What kind of flowers are you looking for?"
"Well they're for my mom. Her birthday is today and I wanted to surprise her since I haven't seen her in a while." He said a little sad at the end.
I felt for him, I hadn't seen my own parents in a while either. Maybe I'll call them after this.
Wait- did he say... his mom?! He doesn't have a partner! Okay calm down Y/N."I'd love to help you pick flowers for her. I'm Y/N by the way." I sweetly smiled at him. I could see his face flash with happiness as he smiled back at me.
"Thank you so much! I'm Jeonghan."
"Do you happen to know her favorite flower or at least favorite color?" I asked.
"I remember she used to really like tulips when I was younger, we always had them around the house." Jeonghan had a small smile on his face, like he was having a fond memory.
"Well then let's start with that." I led us over to where the tulips were arranged.
I looked at the selection in front of us. They had every tulip variety a person could think of. From the sounds of it, Jeonghan's mom sounded like a lovely person, I could definitely see her with yellow or pink tulips around the house.
"What about these?" I led him to a bouquet with yellow, pink, and orange tulips.
He pulled them out of the vase to inspect them. I could see the small smile on his face once again as he looked at the flowers in his hand.
"These are perfect." He turned to look at me, eyes filled with excitement and nostalgia.
"I'm glad I could help." I offered him a smile. "I better get going, my friends are waiting for me next door."
"Thank you so much for helping me." Jeonghan said with sincerity in his voice. It felt like that statement had a double meaning. I think I helped him with more than just picking flowers.
"You're welcome." I smiled once more before turning to leave the shop.
I was a little sad I didn't get his number or anything, but I'm not even from Korea, it's not like I'd ever see him again. As I walked with a little sadness out the door, I heard rushed footsteps behind me.
"Wait!" I turned to see Jeonghan standing behind me out of breath.
"Jeonghan? Are you okay?" I walked closer to see if he needed help.
"I didn't want you to leave just like that." He then pulled out another bouquet of flowers that I hadn't seen him grab. It was of pink roses, pink tulips, and baby's breath in between. "Here." He smiled and handed them to me.
"Jeonghan, you didn't have to." I took them and admired the bouquet in my hands. What are the odds that he'd pick my favorite flowers?
"I know but you helped me, and I didn't want to let a beautiful person just walk away from me like that."
"They're beautiful Jeonghan. Thank you." I looked at him and was caught by his beauty once again.
"Here, put your number in my phone." He handed me his phone that I hadn't seen him take from his pocket. I obliged and put my number in, handing his phone back. A few seconds after, my phone rang once with an unknown number.
"That's me, save my number and call me okay? I would love to see you again." Jeonghan smiled once more.
"I definitely will." I smiled back, feeling my heart beat like crazy.
My friends will never believe what just happened!
