"You'll be fine, come with us! I don't want to leave you alone." My friend Eunchae begged.

"You know I'm scared of heights, plus I'll be fine waiting. I'm sure you guys won't be longer than 30 minutes." I reassured her.

"Okay fine, don't wander off too far. I'll call you once we get off the ride." She smiled then turned to join the rest of our friend group.

"I'll wait for you guys around here!" I yelled and waved to my friends as they got in the long line to ride the ferris wheel.

I began walking around the area surrounding the ferris wheel. It was mostly filled with kid rides or carnival games. I've never been too fond of those games since they can be pricey and I'm convinced they're rigged so I never win anything.

As I walked around, I unfortunately saw a cute cow plushie that was almost half my size, hanging from the top of the ring toss game. I tried to convince myself I didn't need it, but who am I kidding, I can't pass up the cuteness of it.

I walked up to the station and saw other people attempting the game, and failing miserably. I don't think in my whole life I have ever won at the ring toss game. I don't even think I've seen anyone win before with my own eyes.

"Hello! Would you like to give it a go?" The worker came up to me.

I quickly looked at the sign behind her and saw that it was $5 for a small bucket of rings. After a quick debate in my head, I responded.

"Sure, I'll just take the small bucket." I reached into my bag and grabbed a 5 dollar bill to hand her.

"Thank you and good luck!" She said after taking my money and handing me the bucket full of rings.

I looked at some of the others who were playing and took note of the techniques they were using. Some were tossing the rings like frisbees while some were throwing them up straight into the air above the bottles.

There were only 5 blue bottles among the 30-ish clear ones, which meant I had a really low chance of actually winning this.

I threw my first few rings like frisbees and when I noticed that wasn't working I tried to toss them up into the air, but that didn't work either.

I looked into my bucket and sighed. Only 5 rings left to try and win this plushie. I took the 5 into my hand and hoped that just one of them would land, but much to my disappointment, none of them did.

I glanced sadly at the cow plush hanging right above me and put the now empty bucket in the stack of the other empty ones.

I had just sat down on a bench nearby when I heard people cheering at the ring toss game. I looked at it and saw the worker walking towards a guy who had a really big smile on his face. You could tell he was the one who had just won, he seemed to be almost jumping with excitement.

I busied myself on my phone while I continued to wait for my friends. I was so engrossed into it that I never noticed the person standing in front of me.

"Hi, do you mind if I sit here?"

I looked up and noticed it was the guy I had seen winning the ring toss game. My eyes trailed to the plush in his arm, which happened to be the same cow one I had been trying to win as well.

"Yeah of course." My eyes made their way back to his.

"Thank you." He brightly smiled at me before sitting down.

There was a comfortable silence between us, which is strange considering he's a stranger, but I didn't worry too much about it.

"Are you here alone?" He said after a few minutes. I looked at him with a slight panicked look in my eyes, which he noticed immediately. "Wait I'm sorry that came out very creepy. I just meant you're too pretty to be here by yourself." He smiled then quickly shook his head. "Wait that didn't sound any better-"

I chuckled at him having a battle with himself, "It's okay I know what you meant." I gave him a smile of reassurance. "But I'm not, my friends are riding the ferris wheel but I'm afraid of heights so I decided to wait down here."

"Me too! I'm also scared of heights so I decided to wait for my friends." He paused. "I'm Dokyeom by the way."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Y/N."

There was another break of silence between us before he spoke up again.

"Do you play any of the games here?"

"Not really. I tried the ring toss game but failed. I didn't want to spend any more money on it so I accepted my defeat. I saw you win though." I gestured to the cow plush with my eyes.

"Ah yeah I didn't expect everyone to cheer like that. Do you want to know the trick?" Dokyeom asked with mischief in his eyes.

"What is it?" I said genuinely intrigued.

"You throw it like a frisbee, like everyone does, but you have to make sure it stays completely flat. If it's tilted by even a centimeter it won't land on the bottle correctly." He explained using his hand as a visual guide.

"Wow, I'll have to pay attention to that more the next time I try it." I said stunned at how simple it was yet difficult at the same time.

Our conversation was cut short by my phone ringing. I picked it out of my pocket and saw I had a text from Eunchae saying they had just gotten off the ride and where to meet them.

"It was really nice meeting you, but my friends are waiting for me so I have to go now." I gave him a smile.

"That's okay. Before you go, do you think I can have your number?" He asked.

"Yeah sure." He smiled and reached to give me his phone. I quickly typed in his number and handed the phone back to him.

"Hopefully I'll see you around. Bye Y/N."

"Mhm. Bye Dokyeom." I smiled and waved at him.

As I was walking away, I realized that the whole time we were talking, I felt so at ease. It never felt awkward or forced. I do wish we could've talked for longer.

"Wait!" I heard Dokyeom yell from behind me.

I turned around and saw him rushing towards me while holding the cow plushie in his hands.

"I actually wanted to give you this. I saw you earlier playing and wanted to win it for you." He smiled while holding it out to me. "I'm sorry! That was creepy again wasn't it?" He said looking down embarrassed.

I took the cow from his hands and gave him a quick hug. Once I pulled away he was looking at me blushing.

"Thank you Dokyeom, I love it." I smiled causing him to beam that bright smile at me once again. "I'll see you soon."

"See you soon Y/N."
