Seungkwan - Childhood Friend

*Ding Dong*

I rolled over in bed and covered my head with a pillow. 

Ugh who would be here so early in the morning?

"Y/N there's something here at the door for you!" My mom yelled from downstairs.

I groaned and got out of bed, not caring about my appearance. I lazily walked down the stairs and straight to the door, mumbling a quick good morning to my parents on the way by. 

I opened the door and looked to the floor expecting some sort of package to be outside, but was caught off guard by someone's shoes. I looked up and screamed.

"AHHH! Wait... SEUNGKWAN!" I yelled in surprise and proceeded to jump in his arms and give him a bone crushing hug. 

"Ouch! Okay yes hi let me go!" He whined. I let go but then slapped him on his arm, earning another groan from him. "What was that for?!" 

"You haven't texted or called me in more than a month! I thought you found better university friends and forgot about me." I pouted. 

He chuckled and patted my head. "How could I ever forget about you? You've been my best friend since before I can even remember."

I blushed a little at his words. Ah right... just friends... silly me. I need to stop this crush that I have on him.

"Hello? Earth to Y/N?" Seungkwan waved his hands in front of my face. 

"Oh! Sorry come inside." I snapped back to reality and led him inside the house. 

Once we walked in my parents properly greeted him and instructed him to sit so he could join us for breakfast. They engaged in conversation and asked him about his time at university while I went upstairs to properly change out of my pajamas. 

A while later, we had finished eating breakfast and catching up. Now, Seungkwan and I were upstairs laying in my bed and talking about what he had been up to for the month he ghosted me.

"For the last time, I didn't mean to ghost you. I was busy with finals and getting ready to come home for break." He pleaded with me.

"I know, I'm just complaining because I missed you." I looked at him with my best puppy dog eyes. "And you already have to go back next week."

"I know, but it'll only be for a few days. I just have to do graduation and present my final project, then I'll be back for good." He explained while looking around my room.

We laid in a comfortable silence after our conversation ended. I closed my eyes and almost fell asleep thinking about how good it was to have Seungkwan back. It's weird not having him around considering we've been friends since childhood and have always been together. 

"Let's go somewhere." He suddenly said, causing me to open my eyes and look up at him.

"Hm? Where do you want to go?" I yawned and stretched trying to wake myself back up again. 

"The park?" Seungkwan suggested. 

"Sounds good to me."

The walk to the park wasn't long at all. We spent the time continuing to talk and joke around, reminiscing on some old times in the progress.

 When we arrived, we were excited to see that no one was there besides us.

"Oh my god, we can actually play without kids being in the way!" I squealed in excitement and dashed towards the swing set. 

I hopped on and began pushing myself, signaling Seungkwan to join me. We swung for a while, having a competition on who could swing the highest. Of course I won. 

We walked around the park a bit more, before ending up where the slides were. We climbed up the stairs and argued about who was going to go down first.

"I'll go and wait for you at the bottom, for old times sake." Seungkwan said.

"Fine, for old times sake."

I watched as he slid down the slide and hopped up on his feet at the bottom. I sat down and pushed myself down, but quickly realized I was going too fast and would probably slide right off the edge. 

Seungkwan noticed this also and stared at me with wide eyes, but luckily was able to catch me in his arms so I wouldn't fall to the ground. 

"You okay?" He asked looking at me.

"Yes, thank you for catching me." I said hugging him, still in his embrace. 

The next thing I knew, he had moved his hand up to my chin, tilting my head up towards his. I looked at him confused for a second, but then was completely caught off guard by him planting his lips on mine. The kiss was soft and quick, but I reciprocated it almost immediately.

I was shocked to say the least. 

We pulled apart a few seconds later, taking a small step away from each other. 

"Seungkwan..." I almost whispered out.

"I've liked you for a long time Y/N. I didn't realize it at first, but once I went off to university, it was hard to be away from you for so long. And that's when I knew that I had liked you more than just my best friend."

"Why didn't you say anything?" 

"Since I was in school I didn't want you to feel neglected or anything if we had ended up together. And I also wanted you to be able to live your life without worrying about me." He said while looking down.

I stepped forward and took his hand in mine.

"Seungkwan, I've always liked you. I would be lying if I said I hadn't been waiting for you to come back this whole time. There was no way I was moving on. We've been friends for too long and I know it would've been hard to get rid of a crush on you." I shyly smiled. 

"In that case, will you be my partner Y/N? I'm tired of waiting." He chuckled a bit.

"I would love to." I smiled at him and gave him a kiss on his cheek.

"By the way, your parents already know, I told them I was going to ask you earlier this morning." He sheepishly smiled.

I laughed, "It's okay they've been bugging me to confess to you for a long time already. I'm sure they're more than happy about this." 

"Well then let's go back and officially break the news to them." Seungkwan smiled and grabbed my hand.

I smiled back and interlocked our fingers. "Let's go."
