Abhiansh watched his daughter play in the park, a soft smile lingering on his lips. Every time she waved her small hand toward him, his heart warmed. He chuckled quietly, feeling a sense of peace seeing her happiness. But when his gaze shifted to the person sitting next to him, his smile faltered. Sayantika looked lost, her thoughts far away.

He sighed, leaning back on the bench, letting memories flood his mind. A small smile tugged at his lips as a particular moment resurfaced.

Flashback

“Veer, tumhare dost se keh do ki mujhe usse baat nahi karni,” Sayantika's frustrated voice cut through the air, her arms crossed as she glared at Abhiansh.

(Veer, tell your friend I don’t want to talk to him.)

Veer raised his eyebrows at her before glancing at Abhiansh, who was sitting with an equally stubborn frown, looking in the opposite direction.

“Veer, use bhi keh do, mujhe bhi usse koi baat nahi karni,” Abhiansh muttered, refusing to meet Sayantika’s eyes.

(Veer, tell her too that I don't want to talk to her either.)

Veer rolled his eyes dramatically. “Haa, yehi karo tum dono, pehle ladai karo aur phir mujhe apna messenger banao.” He huffed, glancing back and forth between the two of them.

(Yea, you two just fight and then make me your personal messenger.)

“Tum chup raho!” they both snapped in unison, turning to glare at Veer before shooting daggers at each other once again.

(You shut up!)

“Stop copying me!” they both said at the same time, frustration mounting.

“Ugh!”

Veer threw his hands up in exasperation. “Hey Prabhu!” he sighed. “Tum dono, please ek dusre se baat karo, main chalta hoon.” Before Abhiansh could object, Veer took off, leaving them alone to deal with the tension.

(You two, please talk to each other, I’m leaving.)

Abhiansh coughed awkwardly, realizing they were now alone. Just as he was about to speak, a high-pitched, overly sweet voice interrupted him.

“ABHI!!” Maya, the most popular girl on campus, sauntered over, her smile bright enough to make anyone feel important—except Abhiansh. For him, there was only one girl in the world who mattered, and that was Sayantika.

Abhiansh sighed, visibly irritated. He hated hearing his name from Maya’s lips. “How many times do I need to tell you, my name is Abhiansh, not Abhi,” he replied coldly, making it clear he had no interest in her.
