"You're making a big mistake."

"It's been three days since these, uh, events unfolded. Stations line are down. I can't get in touch with anyone. We haven't heard anything from any authorities, but if you are listening, from what I can gather as long as you stay indoors, as long as you don't look at those things you should be fine. Do not go outside. The moment I receive any more news, I will be sure to update you." The man on the radio speaks.

"My husband works in trust and estates. What kind of law do you practice?" Cheryl asks Douglas in the kitchen.

"Bankruptcy."

"When he's not suing his neighbours." Greg then says walking past them.

"Hey, how longs our food gonna last?" Felix asks.

"Not much longer." Douglas tells him. "Because some of us don't understand the concept of rationing." He says looking at him, and Felix stops his hand midway from what he was just snacking on.

"Douglas, your house is behind this one. When we finish this, let's go for a food run." Ethan then says standing by him as Douglas takes a seat in a chair.

"We'd never make it back. What you don't understand is-" Douglas says but then stops when hearing knocking on the front door.

You all get up from your seats or the ones standing head straight for the door. Ethan being closest gets there first.

"Hey, Ethan.." Lucy says running after him.

"We can't let anyone in." Douglas tells him.

"Okay, just calm down." Ethan says and holds his hand up for everyone to stop approaching the door.

You stand furthest behind with your arms crossed nervously, not having gotten far before stopping. Looking at Ethan while he leans close to the door you squeeze your arms watching.

"Hello?"

"Yes, hello." A woman is heated outside the door.

"You're making a big mistake."

"Douglas." Greg tries to quiet him.

"Yes, hello." Ethan says, head close to the door.

"Hello. My name is Olympia. I need help. Please."

"Don't open the door." Douglas tells him.

"I'm gonna open the door." He then tells the woman outside and you take the shotgun, in seconds you have it loaded and aimed at the door. Douglas happens to be in the way and raise his hand thinking you're aiming for him.

"Hey! Hey, hey, hey." Lucy says and Ethan turns and sees you.

"Move." You tell Douglas with a small movement of the gun to gesture for him to move away and he does. "Go ahead." You then tell Ethan.

He just stares at you, looking at you holding the shotgun.

"Go ahead." You repeat.

"Go get a, uh, go get a blanket." He then tells Greg beside him. He glances at you again before turning back to the door. "There should be two lamps on either side of the door. I'm gonna hand you a blanket and I want you to drape it across both of them. Okay?"

"Okay."

"Okay. I need you to block the view for me. Cover your eyes." He then says looking at everyone inside.

"So stupid." Felix says and pulls his hand up to cover his eyes.

"Yn, cover your eyes." Ethan says looking at you, waiting until you do. You close your eyes, though the gun still aimed at the door. Ethan opens the door with his eyes closed. "Here, here. Let me know when you have it." He says handing her the blanket.

"Ethan, is it safe?" You hear Lucy ask him.

"Shut up!" You shut her up.
"Hold on, please!" Ethan tells her at the same time.

"Okay, it's all covered."

"Okay. Come on. Hold on." Ethan says as he starts to open the door. You hear shuffling and panting, then the door click shut and lock again. "We're good."

You open your eyes and keep the shotgun aimed at the young woman still wearing her sleeping mask as a blindfold. Ethan steps up behind her looking at you and hold a hand out toward you.

"Yn. The gun, please." He says waving his hand down to tell you to stop aiming at her.

"Yeah." You say.

"Yeah, before you kill someone with it, since you have no idea how it works." Douglas says.

You cock the shotgun three times to unload it in front of them as you stare at Douglas with a blank look. Showing him you know exactly how it works and how to use it. Some of them feeling slightly intimidated by your actions, not that you minded that right now.

"It's okay." Greg then tells Olympia, coming up behind her and guides her further into the house.

"How.. There's so many of you."

"So are you, uh.. Are you pregnant?" Charlie then asks from beside you and you look at her belly.

"Yeah. October 1st." She tells him her due date.

Ethan glances at her belly while she passes her and walk toward you. He takes the shotgun when you hand it to him.

"Hold on. Is shit still going crazy out there?" Felix ask her and she nods.

"Are you on your own?" Cheryl asks her.

"Yeah, I am. My husband was deployed last month, he's in the Air force. I tried to make stuff last as long as I could, uh.. but I was so hungry and I was afraid I would starve my baby, so I don't know what to do." She says and as she talks you go to the sink, and get a glass of water for her.

"Here, have some water." You tell her and hand the glass to her.

"Thank you."

"So you left and started knocking on random doors?" Lucy asks her.

"I only live a block away."

"Great, we can all starve here in the new maternity ward." Douglas says and you glare at him.

"It just means we need to get more supplies." You say.

"Of course, but we can't get anything if we can't see." Lucy tells you.

"We're so trapped." Felix mumbles.

"Maybe not." Greg then says and everyone turns to him. "Come here."

"What do you mean?" Ethan says and follows him, giving Douglas the shotgun when he passes him.
