Tw: Abuse

"Good Morning Y/n care to explain why you are late?"

I didn't answer my teacher and sat at my desk. Trying to hide how much it hurt just to sit down. My father beat me up this morning pretty bad. I was fed up with everything. Today after school I wouldn't return home.

"Y/n, can you repeat what I just said?"

I look briefly into the blue eyes of my teacher Ms. Blanchett. She was teaching English, which was actually my favorite subject. But I was too tired to pay attention. I hadn't slept for days because I was afraid my parents would do something to me in the night. And then there was the incredible pain from all the beatings. Every little movement hurt.

"Y/n?"

Shit! Ms. Blachet asked me something.

"I-I'm sorry!"

"Please stay behinde after class."

She didn't sound angry, more worried, which I found almost worse. I could concentrate even less for the rest of the lesson than before. I felt Ms. Blachett's eyes on me and it was hard to bear.

Finally the bell rang and everyone left. I packed my things, but then stayed seated.  Ms. Blanchett waved me over to the teacher's desk and pulled a chair in front of her. I sat down and looked at the floor.

"Y/n, why were you late this morning?"

"I overslept."

I nervously played with my hands in my lap and looked around the room, avoiding my teacher's gaze.

"You can cut the bullshit, Y/n. You look like you haven't slept in days."

I winced and looked at Ms. Blanchett in fear.

"I'm sorry, darling, I didn't mean to."

She put her hands on mine. Single tears ran down my cheeks.

"I want you to tell me the truth. You're not well. Where are your injuries coming from?"

I didn't answer.

"Y/n, darling, is someone hurting you? You have to tell me the truth."

I start to cry even more.  Ms. Blachett comes around the table and takes me in her arms. I flinch at first, but then I melt into her arms. I inhale her scent deeply and calm down a little.

"Y/n, who is hurting you?"

"M-my e-parents."

"Are they also the reason you're not sleeping?"

I nodded into her shoulder.

"Oh Y/n, I'm so sorry."

She pushes me away a little, her hands still on my shoulders.

"I would suggest that you come home with me and then we'll see what happens?"

"I-it's really all right! You don't have to do this!"

"Y/n, you're not safe at home, there's nothing to discuss!"

I just nodded and went with her. We drove to her house. She lived in a big house.

"I don't live alone, Sandra Bullock Blanchett also lives here, but that shouldn't be a problem."

I nodded a little anxiously, after all I didn't know her. I didn't know what to think of it.

The front door opened before Ms. Blanchett could ring the bell. A brown-haired woman hugged her.

"Are you OK, Cate? Why are you home so early?"

I looked anxiously at the floor and played with my fingers.

"Cate, who is that?"

"I'll explain later. Her name is Y/n. Come on Y/n, this is Sandra."

Ms. Blanchett led me through the house and showed me a room.

"You can have this room. I'll leave you alone for a moment, OK?"

"Sure, and thank you Ms. Blanchett, that wasn't necessary!"

"Cate for you!"

She left me alone. However, I could make out her and Sandra's muffeld voices.  However, I couldn't understand what they were talking about.

10 minutes later, there was a knock on my door.

"Yes?"

"Y/n, can we talk to you?"

I nodded and Cate motioned for me to follow her. She led me into a large room with a table in the middle where Sandra was already sitting. I sat down on the chair opposite Cate and Sandra.

"Y/n can we see your injuries please?"

I nodded weakly. Sandra left the room and Cate came towards me.

"Could you please take off your sweater?"

Reluctantly I did what she said. I was now standing in front of my English teacher in a crop top. The door opened and I flinched. Sandra came back with a first aid kit. I could hear her inhaling sharply. I quickly turned my gaze to the floor and played with my hands.

"Y/n?!"

Cate brought me out of my thoughts. She looked at me again with that worried expression. She carefully guided me to the sofa and sat down. Sandra was standing right behind her.

"Can I take a look at the injuries please? I'll be careful too!"

I just nodded silently and Cate knelt down in front of me. She examined my arms and back. I kept wincing in pain.

"Sandra knows more than I do. Would it be okay for you if she took care of it?"

I nodded again. Sandra smiled warmly at me and knelt down next to Cate. I winced every time she touched a larger bruise.

"Nothing seems broken, just bruised. I'll put some ointment on you. Do you have any other injuries?"

I shook my head and it was actually true. Sandra applied the cooling cream and slowly it got dark outside. I yawned.

"Y/n, you know we still have to talk?"

I nodded tiredly, slowly I was getting really tired. I didn't even notice that Sandra left the living room. I took my sweater againg and cuddled into it.

"I think you should sleep first, then you'll feel a little better!"

She put a blanket over me and laid my head on her lap. But I almost didn't notice the whole thing anymore. I became weak...

"You need to sleep kid"

"I-I c-can't. I'm scared. I could easily get hurt while I'm sleeping."

Cate looked at me sadly.

"Do you trust me?"

I nodded without hesitation. She smiled at me.

"How about I stay right here and watch. I promise you, I won't move an inch from here. I'll watch over you, darling, I promise!"

I nodded. I trusted her. I hoped I wasn't mistaken. Bullshit, I can trust her, she'll keep her promise!

"And now sleep darling, you need it."

As soon as I lay down, my eyes closed. Cate drew circles on my back and I was sunk into a dreamless sleep.

"Good morning"

I sat up. Cate was still there.  Her hand had slipped from my back.

"You really stayed with me?"

"Like I promised you"

She smiled warmly at me and I smiled back, with a genuine smile.
