Bank and Lom had 'volunteered' a car they'd found parked on the road. They stole an expensive car because Lom believed poor people wouldn't have a way to their jobs, but someone who could afford a luxury car would have enough money for a taxi. He realized he made this choice due to Fah's influence.
Bank's burner phone rang. "Hey."
"We've been outside the house for a while. There's a new car in the driveway and an extra person inside and they only now sat down to eat. What do you want us to do?" asked Worawut.
"We're not rescheduling; we've done too much planning. Grab the extra person as well. Call us when they've gone to bed." Bank shook his head. Of course, this last job couldn't go smoothly.
"Okay." Worawut hung up and told the others.
"What's going on?" asked Lom.
"The family has a guest. I told them to grab that person as well. After all, we're not harming them, just using them to influence our guest of honor."
"Sounds good. It figures they never have guests over or eat dinner this late but the one night we make plans," said Lom. "Well, let's head over and make sure everything is ready." Bank drove to the location and they went inside and re-checked the room where the family would be held. They added another chair and then went upstairs to where they'd entertain their guest.
Tao decided to take a nap while the others staked out the house. Since he would have to sneak in first, making it past the alarms, he wanted to be at his best.
The others watched the house and spent most of the time complaining about how long it took to eat one meal. Finally, they saw the silhouettes of everyone standing up. The lights in the dining area and kitchen went off. Two rooms lit up on the second floor and another on the first floor.
"Hey, we're not going to know which room the guest is in," said Worawut.
"When Tao goes in he can check it out," said Ek.
The light in the child's room on the second floor went out almost immediately. Twenty minutes later the light in the master bedroom went out as well. On the first floor, the light remained on in the older son's room.
"What the fuck is that guy doing?" asked Mechai.
"Maybe the visitor is his friend and they're hanging out or watching a movie?" said Art. The van was becoming increasingly hot. They had the windows open but the humidity combined with so many people crammed into a small area was making it miserable. At last, the light went out downstairs.
"Wake up Tao!" said Kiat.
Ek and Art took turns trying to wake up Tao, who kept saying "Five more minutes." Unable to take it anymore, Kiat poured a glass of water on Tao.
"What the fuck!" Tao said as he jumped up.
"Hey, we need you in the house now. Find out what room the visitor is staying in. We think he might be on the first floor with the older son," said Worawut.
"I doubt he's in the master bedroom. If he is, we don't need to kidnap anybody, just take some photos!" laughed Art.
"Art, shut up," said Kiat, getting out of the van to prepare the gas. Tao slid out of the van, pushing Kiat to the side. Crouching down he made his way towards the house, running from one bush to another until he was at the gate. In the dark, they could discern his small form climb the gate, and disappear over the side. For those waiting at the van, time slowed down.
Tao slid over the fence and made his way to the back of the house. Looking into the first-floor bedroom he could see a person on each of the twin beds. That answered one question. He made his way to the back door. The window to the side of it had not been secure on his first visit. Trying it again, he found it still was not shut and he was able to slide it up and make his way inside.
