Back at the bungalows, the four sat inside the car with the engine off. The car tailing them hadn't been visible for the last few kilometers.
"What should we do? Do you want us to keep watch tonight?" asked Run.
"Do you think if they find us they'll try breaking into our bungalows?" Mek asked. "Wait, we have no idea when they found us. Let me check the car for a tracker." He got out and began looking in the tire wells and under the car. Run went to help him.
"Do you think I should call the police and give myself up for questioning? You can head out before I do and then we can be sure that whoever is following us won't hurt Run or Mek?" Fah regretted involving his brother and friend. As he finished speaking Run and Mek got back in the car.
"We couldn't find a tracker," said Run as he turned to face the back seat.
"No, don't call them tonight. Even if they discover we're here, I don't think they'll try coming inside. If they wanted to hurt us or kill us, they could have run us off the road. We were the only two cars on the road for the last twenty minutes of the drive, but they only followed," said Lom.
"Fah, you need to call Manao and set up your meeting place. Run, Mek, you guys need to leave early for Bangkok at the same time that I take Fah to the drop-off. If they follow us tomorrow morning they'll go after me and Fah, and you two can make it to the airport without anyone on your tail."
"Where are you going after you drop Fah off?" Run asked.
"I can't say. Fah said he wants to be able to pass a lie detector test if the police use one on him," said Lom.
"Also, if he tells me where he's going, I might become weak and go after him at some point. I know myself, and I'm sure I will struggle to stay apart," said Fah. He squeezed Lom's thigh and looked at him.
"I'm sure it's going to be hard for you guys. Fah, you can always hang out with us. Well, almost always. For the next week or two we won't be available. Our drive to the airport is only two hours and our flight to Koh Samui is a little over an hour. This time tomorrow we'll be relaxing by the beach," Mek said as he gazed at Run.
"You guys have fun, you deserve some alone time," said Fah. "I promise I'll only call my brother if I telepathically sense a romantic moment coming on!"
"Fah!" laughed Run.
"What a brat! Lom, I'm not sure you should leave him until we return from the beach. Your partner has an uncanny ability to cockblock me. Even tonight, we were supposed to have a romantic evening but now we'll be on the lookout for cops and killers." Mek made it obvious he was only kidding but Fah still felt a pang of guilt.
"You don't have to spend the night watching for our stalker," said Fah. "I'm sure he lost us, otherwise he'd be here by now."
"No, I am going to trade off with Run. I'll take the first half of the night, then Run can take over so I can sleep before driving tomorrow. This is the last night you two will be together for a while so relax and enjoy it. We'll call you if anything strange happens; you'd do the same for us." Mek was seldom serious which made them realize the gravity of the situation.
"Well, I've got to pee so I'm heading inside. I'll meet you two out here early tomorrow morning before we say goodbye," said Mek as he exited the car. "Run, lock the doors after everyone is out, thanks."
"I guess we should go inside as well," said Lom. He looked at Fah, "Come on, we need to go over the plan one more time." Lom opened his door and left.
"I guess I won't get to talk to you until you're back from Koh Samui," said Fah, reaching out and squeezing his brother's shoulder.
"I feel guilty heading off for a week at the beach with Mek when I know you're going to be at home alone, worrying about Lom," said Run.
"It's okay. I'll be dealing with the police and getting back to work. When you come home we can stay up all night and you can tell me all the details that you don't share with Dad and Mint!"
"Deal!" said Run as he got out. Fah exited the car as well and headed inside. Run used the fob to lock the car and disappeared into his bungalow.
As Run stepped across the threshold Mek came out of the bathroom. They both laughed.
"So much for our fun, sexy night... At this rate you'll be a virgin when we return home," said Mek.
"I don't care if I have to tie you to a bed, turn off our phones, and lock the door. When we get to the beach you are mine. I'm sick of knowing that half the city has slept with my boyfriend, and yet I still don't know how good he is in bed."
"Aw, don't say it like that. I haven't slept with that many people."
"How many then?" Run cocked his head to the side.
"Numbers mean nothing. What matters is how many people I have slept with who I love. That answer now is zero but hopefully tomorrow night it will be one," said Mek as he pulled Run in for a hug.
"I see you're avoiding the question."
"Would a number make you happy? What if it's too high for you to accept? What if it's too low so you won't believe me? I've been with some men..."
"Including Lom."
"Yes, including Lom. I'm sorry if that bothers you," said Mek, stroking the back of Run's head.
"It doesn't. I thought it would at first. Knowing how in love he is with my brother, and seeing that he has zero interest in you as anything but a friend, I don't feel threatened or bothered by him. It's as if he's forgotten the whole night with you," teased Run.
"I hope he has. I've forgotten it. All I can think of now is you, and that's the truth."
"Oh, my boyfriend is so romantic. Okay, I don't care about your past, but I do want you to take me."
Run's arms were already around Mek's neck and now he began kissing Mek's cheek and neck, nuzzling into him. He licked the side of his throat from his collarbone to his jaw. His hands slid under Mek's shirt and around to his back and pulled Mek closer. One hand remained on Mek's back while his other hand made its way to the front of Mek's pants. After he pulled the zipper down his hand slid inside to cup Mek's balls.
"Run, I have to keep watch. You're not supposed to be doing this to me when everyone's life is in my hands!"
"Wow, exaggerate much? Right now your life is in my hand as well." Run winked as he removed his hand and zipped Mek's pants. "I guess I'll just go lie on the bed and masturbate while you look the other way watching for strangers in the dark." He smiled and went to sit on the bed.
"Such a brat! I wish everyone who felt sorry for you for being my boyfriend knew what I have to deal with," said Mek. He pulled the chair out from the table and closer to the window. "Hey, turn off all our lights. If someone shows up I don't want them to be able to see us or what we're doing." Run did as he asked.
"Are you going to spend half the night sitting in that chair?" Run sighed and then pretended to sniffle. Having received no reaction he sighed louder.
"I'm sorry. You know I'd rather be in bed with you... Tomorrow night it will be just us and I promise I'll make it up to you."
"Mek! Don't sit out in the open - what if they have guns? Pull the curtains closed as much as you can but leave a little space where you can watch without being seen," said Run. Mek shut the curtains as much as he dared and slid the chair a little to one side.
"Want to sit on my lap while I play night watchman?" Although Mek was kidding, Run instantly walked over, straddled Mek, and sat facing him. He threw his arm around Mek's neck. "Mmm, this is nice, being a guard isn't going to be as bad as I imagined," said Mek as he kissed Run's neck. Run arched his neck and reveled in being kissed for a minute before he began reciprocating. For several minutes neither spoke; the sexual tension was palpable.
"Run, did you ever think about losing your virginity in a chair while watching for cops and killers? If so, I'm ready to make that dream come true," said Mek, his voice huskier now.
"I don't care where or when, just as long as it's with you," said Run before taking Mek's hand and placing it on his crotch, his erection apparent.
