A knock sounded at the front door, alerting Madelyn - who had been reading a book while running her slender fingers through Sam's collar-length brown hair while he slept.
The light knocks sounded at the door once again which forced the blonde to put her book aside and gently manoeuvred herself out of the hunter's strong arms, earning a soft groan from him as he stirred around slightly.
"Shh.." Madelyn cooed and kissed his cheek. "Sleep, Sammy."
The youngest Winchester had quickly settled and a soft smile settled across the Nephilim huntress' features before she grabbed her silk robe, wrapping it around her and made her way to the door with her gun in hand.
Opening the front door, she came face-to-face with the familiar 5'7" figure of her older sister.
"Cami.." She breathed and pulled her sister in for a tight hug; the two last having seen each other at Chuck's house moments before they had parted ways.
Allowing her sister inside and locking the door behind them, the youngest Hale sister placed her gun down on the entrance table and turned towards the eldest. "What are you doing here?" She asked. "Is Dean alright? What's going on?"
Camryn smiled slightly, her greyish-blue gaze shining with a hint of mischief. "Is that any way to say 'hi' to your older sister?" She teased lightly.
"Sorry.." Madelyn released a light laugh, knowing full well that Camryn would eventually track her down. "Can't be too careful, especially with.. You know."
"Mmhmm." The eldest sister hummed in understanding.
Gesturing towards the couch, the two sisters took a seat with Madelyn shifting her blue gaze onto the taller blonde.
"So, what's going on?" She asked curiously.
It was then that Camryn had revealed what happened over the past week and had met another uncle of theirs, the Archangel Raphael. In turn, Madelyn had revealed that she was keeping tabs on their uncle, who had been appearing in Sam's dreams, and making sure that he didn't get anywhere near the young hunter, or close enough to finding him.
"What did we get ourselves into?" Camryn sighed tiredly. "Who would have thought that the boys were vessels for our uncle and your Dad?"
Madelyn nodded her head, feeling equally as exhausted over the entire mess that was currently their lives of keeping the boys hidden from their respective angels.
"Yeah." She responded. "But I can't help but think that this was meant to happen, you know? Us being in their lives. Like it was meant to be."
"Hmm.." The eldest sister hummed, nodding her head in agreement.
It truly did feel as if the girls were meant to have met the Winchesters and be in their lives, and despite the current situation of Lucifer free from his cage, they wouldn't want to change a thing that happened.
"I'll set up the guest room." Madelyn said as she stood to her feet.
"I've disturbed you already." Camryn replied. "I can take the couch for the night."
"Nonsense." The youngest sister tutted with a smile. "You're my sister. You're welcome here anytime."
Dean climbed out of the Impala and grabbed his duffel bag from out of the backseat before he headed towards the hotel's reception.
"Excuse me, friend, but have you taken time out to think about God's plan for you?" A voice called out to him, forcing him to come to a stop and shift his gaze towards a man, who had a handful of pamphlets as he preached to passerbys.
The hunter arched a brow at the man and scoffed lightly. "Too friggin' much, pal." He replied and entered the hotel, walking up to the reception desk to check himself in for the night.
Making his way up to his room, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, dialing a number before he placed the phone against his ear as it rang.
"Hey." The soft voice of his girlfriend answered on the receiving end.
"Hey, Angel." A soft smile settled across Dean's exhausted features. "Did you get there safely?"
"Mmhmm." Camryn hummed in response as he heard her shuffling around. "Just settled in."
His smile broadened slightly. "I miss you already." He said.
"I know." Dean chuckled to himself at her response, hearing a smile in the blonde's voice. "I miss you too."
"I love you." He said. "I'm going to get some shut eye."
"Alright. I love you."
With a smile, the hunter ended the call, but before he could settle down for bed, his phone rang. Sighing to himself softly, he answered the call and brought it up to his ear only to reveal Castiel on the other end.
The Angel in the trench coat apparently had found a way to kill Lucifer.
"We're talking about the Colt, right? I mean, as in the Colt?" Dean asked as if he hadn't heard what his girlfriend's father had just told him.
"We are." Castiel confirmed.
"Well, that doesn't make any sense. I mean, why would the demons keep a gun around that kills demons?"
"What? What? Did - I didn't - I didn't get that." The Angel stuttered over the receiving end as Dean heard a car drive by which caused him to chuckle.
"You know, it's kind of funny." He said with a grin. "Talking to a messenger of God on a cellphone. It's, you know, like watching a Hell's Angel ride a moped."
"This isn't funny, Dean." Castiel replied. "The voice says I'm almost out of minutes."
"Okay, alright. I'm - I'm telling you, Cas, the mooks have melted down the gun by now." Dean responded.
"Well, I hear differently. And if it's true and if you are still set on the insane task of killing the devil, this is how we do it."
"Okay. Where do we start?" The hunter wondered.
"Where are you now?" The Angel asked.
"Kansas City." Dean answered and leaned across the bed to grab the key from the bedside table. "Century Hotel, room 113."
"I'll be there immediately."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. No, no, come on, man." The sandy haired male protested with a groan. "I just drove like sixteen hours straight, okay? I'm human. And there's stuff I got to do."
"What stuff?" The Angel questioned.
"Eat, for example. In this case, sleep." Dean replied. "I just need like four hours once in a while, okay?"
"Yes."
"Okay, so, you can pop in tomorrow morning." The hunter said, running a hand over his face in exhaustion.
"Yes. I'll just--"
But before he could hear the full response, Dean had hung up the call with his girlfriend's father, putting his phone on vibrate and placing it on the bedside table before he got comfortable. Soon enough, the hunter had felt his eyes slowly close as sleep took over, and he allowed himself to drift away in the little bit of slumber that he could get.
