Arriving back at the motel, Madelyn wheel Bobby up the incline that led towards their motel room.

"You know, I still think I should play." Sam said.

Reaching the top of the incline, Bobby took over wheeling himself but paused from continuing further alongside Sam and the girls as Dean had come to a complete stand-still.

"No, no, no. You're not good enough. I'm better. Bobby's way better." The eldest Winchester argued. "We both lost."

"Exactly." Bobby chimed in.

"So, what? So, I don't get a say in this anymore?" The youngest Winchester questioned.

"Sammy, when you get to be our age--"

"You're thirty, Dean!" Sam exclaimed, interrupting his brother in mid-sentence. "Look, I've watched you hustle plenty of poker--"

"Knowing the game is not enough, Sam." The older hunter stated. "It's not about playing the cards."

"It's about playing the other guy. I know that."

"Well, hooray for you." Bobby responded sarcastically. "All I'm saying is, I played this guy. I know his style. I can take him."

"No, Bobby." Dean shook his head. "You don't have enough years in the bank."

"I got enough."

"No, you'll die if you lose, Bobby." Sam stated.

"So what if I do, huh? What exactly am I living for, huh? The damn apocalypse? Watching men die bloody while I sit in this chair, can't take a step to help 'em?"

"Bobby--" Madelyn said gently, only to be interrupted by the older hunter.

"No, no. It's the facts. I'm old.. And broke down..  And I can't.." Bobby said and paused, taking a moment to himself to breathe. "I ain't a hunter no more. I'm useless. And if I wasn't such a coward, I'd have stuck a gun in my mouth day I got home from the hospital."

Silence fell over the hunters and huntresses as they stared at the man that they viewed as their father figure; tears flooding Madelyn's blue eyes as a single tear rolled down Camryn's cheek. It had hurt a lot to hear Bobby speak this way.

"Bobby, you are not playing again. I'm not letting you do that." Sam stated. "There's another way out of this. There's got to be. And I'm gonna find it."

With that, the youngest Winchester walked off, passing his brother and Bobby as a look of determination crossed his features.

Patrick chewed on his toothpick as five cards had been spread out in a row on the table: the eight of spades, five and four of clubs, king of diamonds and a jack of hearts as well as a pile of about three dozen poker chips.

His opponent was an old man by the name of Hesh. He clinked his poker chips against each other and looked down at his two cards that had been faced down.
