11. Kingsguard

While the siblings expected Tywin to oppose jaime joining kings guard, Cersei claimed he could not openly object. She promised to do the rest, they just had to stall.

Hoster tully arrived and tywin greeted him kindly even though Jaime was in a mood and Cersei was in a bigger mood. Alice was surprised when Tywin introduced Alice to him as well.

"Lord Tully this is Lady Alice Clegane."

"Clegane?" He looked her up and down. Tywin wrapped a possessive hand around her.

"My Alice." Tywin agreed. "Thank you for making the trip."

"Jaime we have to do something." Cersei demanded.

"We could have Gregor bash his head in." Jaime suggested.

"And these are her boys. Sandor and Gregor." Tywin added. Alice loved him all the more for introducing her sons. But when tyrion waddled up tywin didnt speak.

"And this is tyrion." Alice elbowed tywin. 

"Yes i heard of the little lord." He agreed. "Lets talk unions. I am hoping your son will be the remedy for my political headache." Hoster added.

"It will keep jaime close."

"You did this behind your fathers back?" Alice countered tutting.

"Well... yeah." Cersei agreed. "But its not like its a problem. Father is still hand of the king. Jaime would be closer to us when we are at the capital... I'm going to be a queen one day so jaime should get used to-"

"Your father spends more time here than at the capital these days and he knows how aerys is. I dont think he wants your brother working for a man like the king." Alice answered

"Well its not your decision." Cersei cut in.

"I know that, but it is your fathers." Alice agreed. "And he is not going to be happy you going against his wishes." 

Jaime received news at Casterly Rock that he had been chosen for the Kingsguard, and was to present himself to the king during the grand tourney at Harrenhal, where he would say his vows and don his cloak.

"I think we should stay at the capital more, be closer to jaime."Cersei added. "Like full time." 

"Hmm." Tywin countered not looking up from his desk. "I have to write Lord Tully. Excuse yourself Cersei." 

"Of course! Best tell him the grand news!" Cersei agreed skipping out. 

Tywin had to be the bearer of bad news to the Tully's. Yes a great honor, i'm so very sorry. Tywin had looked to Alice with a scowl, he wasnt mad at her, she was the only thing that made him happy these days. She kissed his cheek.

"Maybe this will be good for him."

"Maybe it will drive me crazy and thats why they came up with this scheme." Tywin countered marching the room. "I know what I can do. I am going to support this of course, I can't say no." Alice hesitated confused. "But I dont have to stand by and allow this as aerys steals my heir." 

"Tyrio-"

"Dont." Tywin begged, Alice rolled her eyes. "Can you tend to-"

"Dont." She teased kissing him. "I got Tyrion, I love him." 

"I know you do... I thank you for it." he added. "I have to go to the capital, once and for all."

"What does that mean?" Alice countered. 

"I will be home soon enough my heart." 

Jaime's and Cersei's plan did not entirely work as expected though. Tywin was completely furious about the king's decision, pleaded illness and resigned his position as Hand of the King. Jaime froze as Cersei sobbed out being pryed from the capital, from Jaime. 

Alice was happy to have him home fully but when He returned to Casterly Rock he took Cersei with him, which separated the siblings once more.
