Back at the house, I collapsed into my small corner, my body aching from the night's events. Felix stayed by my side, his presence a comforting balm to my frazzled nerves.
"Ella, you need to rest," he said gently, his eyes filled with concern.
"I can't stop thinking about him," I admitted, the words tumbling out before I could stop them. "Prince August."
Felix's expression softened. "You made an impression on him. I could see it in his eyes."
"Do you think he'll remember me?"
"I think he will," Felix said with a small smile. "But you need to be careful. The Regime won't take kindly to someone like you getting close to the prince."
I nodded, the weight of reality pressing down on me. "I know. But for a moment, it felt like everything could be different."
"Maybe it can be," Felix said, his voice filled with quiet determination. "We'll figure something out."
As I drifted off to sleep, I held onto Felix's words. Maybe there was hope for a better future, a future where I could be more than just a servant in a broken world.
