As we moved across the floor, I felt an unexpected connection with Prince August. His touch was gentle, his eyes filled with a longing I recognized. We danced in silence for a while, each lost in our thoughts.

"You seem... different from the others," he said softly, his gaze piercing through my projected image.

"Different how?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

"More real. More alive."

I smiled sadly. "Maybe because I'm not like them. Not really."

He studied me, his expression unreadable. "What's your name?"

"Ella," I whispered, the lie feeling strangely like the truth.

He smiled, a genuine warmth in his eyes. "Ella. A beautiful name for a beautiful person."

My heart fluttered at his words, but I quickly reminded myself of the danger I was in. The transmitter could fail at any moment, exposing my true identity. Yet, at that moment, I allowed myself to forget the risks and simply enjoy the dance.

We moved in perfect harmony, our steps synchronized as if we had been dancing together for years. The music swelled, and the world around us seemed to fade away. It was just the two of us, lost in a moment of fleeting magic.

"You dance wonderfully," he said, his voice soft and sincere.

"Thank you," I replied, a blush rising to my cheeks. "I've always loved dancing, but I don't get many opportunities."

"That’s a shame," he said, his eyes darkening with something I couldn’t quite place. "Everyone deserves to experience moments of joy, even in times like these."

His words struck a chord within me. The world we lived in was harsh and unforgiving, but in that moment, I felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, there was a chance for a better future.

As the dance came to an end, I felt a pang of sadness. The night was slipping away, and with it, my brief escape from reality. Prince August looked at me, his eyes filled with a mix of emotions.

"Will I see you again?" he asked, his voice tinged with longing.

"I hope so," I replied, the words feeling both true and impossible.
