-------

A cold mist wrapped around your ankles as you silently walked through the quiet town, everyone hunkered down in their home, choosing to ignore the outside world. Your hair emitted a light, green glow as you walked through the mist, fog parting with each step you took deeper into the village. There was a low hum in the wind, every now and then blowing your way to tussle your hair and your new Gi, the metal on it clinking.

There had been reported sightings of ghosts lurking around the town you were currently in, many of the residents fleeing upon sight. The village was almost empty by the time you had arrived, the chief begging for you to clean up the mess that had been made. All you could do was smile and reassure the man that everything was going to be okay, all the while he was on his knees. It wasn't uncommon for you to be called into abandoned villages or cities on the outskirts of Ninjago City, as that's what you were mainly known for after joining the Ninja.

With the fall of the Cursed Realm came an abundance of ghost sightings, many people stating that they had their belongings stolen or worse, they ended up injured. The Cursed Realm was a Realm that held the souls of those who had done meticulous deeds in their life time, a Realm for those who needed to be punished. When the Preeminent was killed and you were forced to take her position, there was a leakage of Cursed Spirits, as you hadn't taken action quickly enough to prevent it.

You paused your step midway upon hearing a small cackle echo around you, the wind stopping and allowing you to hear what was around you. It took a minute before the laugh sounded once more, your eyes darting around the area as you turned your body around, trying to follow the noise. The more you looked around and turned, the louder it grew, the ghost slowly nearing as the misty at your ankles shifted to a lime hue, your hair slowly growing brighter.

With one more cackle, you whipped your body around with a ghastly hand extended outwards, a gag coming from the ghost as you held them by their neck. "Wha.. what? Who are you!?" They stuttered as they reached up to try and grab at your arm, only for their hands to sink and dissolve through your solid skin. "You! You're that damn Ninja, let go of me!" The figure hissed as you stepped forward closer to their body, the weight in your knee and lower leg dropping.

With a scoff, the ghost bent over once you kneed them in the stomach, dropping to the ground as they let out a gag, obviously not used to being attacked. "Where are the rest of them? I know you're not here alone." You asked the ghost as your body took on its physical form once more, now bending down and shoving your masked face into the ghosts. "Tell me and maybe I'll allow you all a pardon, a two week sentence in the Underworld before ascending to the Departed Realm. Does that sound like a good deal?" You hummed as you watched the ghost look up at you with a snarl, holding their chest tightly as they weighted their options, you patiently allowing them to do so.

It took a while, but eventually the ghost sighed and nodded their head, agreeing to your terms by letting out a small whistle to call upon the other spirits. You nodded your head in thanks to the spirit underneath you, standing back up and glancing over the abundance of ghosts now surrounding you. Your eyes filtered over every last one of them, committing a small detail about them to memory so you could keep track, all the while counting how many there were. With a tired sigh you concluded that there were twenty three ghosts haunting this small town, no wonder the village chief was on his hands and knees for you.
