A soft sigh left your nose as you rolled over onto your side, letting out a pained noise as you reached up and touched your head. There was shuffling around you that had you sitting up from your laid position, blinking open your eyes, trying to process where you were. The floor underneath you was a patterned carpet, and you came to realize you were lying on a decently beat up couch.

You had a killer headache, but you completely brushed past it as you started to look around for Jay, calling his name lightly. "Oh, dear, here." A voice suddenly called out, you glancing over and watching as an aged woman came over and offered you a blanket, helping you sit up. "You stay here, I'll go get Jay and Ed, okay? I'll also get you something to eat, don't you worry." She reassured you with a few back rubs before walking away and into a side room, you shivering and pulling the blanket across your shoulders.

You sat there staring at the ground for a moment as your shivering dulled down, only peaking up when the door opened once more. "You're awake." Jay sighed out in relief as he stepped over and sat down next to you, you questioning just where exactly you were. "We are at my parents right now. Apparently the Travelers Tea took us here, I guess because I was thinking about them when we fell through." Nodding your head, you shuffled on the couch as a bowl was passed over to you by the woman once more, you quickly thanking Jay's mom.

You stared at the soup for a little while before taking a spoonful and shoveling it in your mouth, tears almost leaking from your eyes right then and there. "I'm Edna, and this here is Ed, you're Y/n right? Oh, Jay told us everything that's happened already, he was worried sick about you." Edna sighed as she patted the man next to her, you pausing you eating to give them both a glance over. "You're really brave for sticking this through till the end and keeping our son safe. When this all brushes over, how about you come over for dinner, hm?" Edna hummed as she shot you a kind smile, you pausing upon seeing it and your mouth falling slightly agape.

Your heart felt warm as the woman took your empty bowl from your hands and made sure you were comfortable before walking into the kitchen. "If I could take back the wishes, I would, but I can't." Jay sighed from beside, you, running a hand through his hair as you looked over at him, easily noting the disheartened look on his face. "It cost me my friends, and most importantly, the two people who care for me the most. And now it's up to me and you to stop the wedding and save the world. Just one guy and his friend that he's barely gotten to know, against a Djinn and his entire army." The boy continued to stress from beside you, rubbing his eyes in irritation as you noticed the stern look on Ed's face.

Instead of putting in your own input, you turned away and started to stare at the wall next to you, already knowing what was to come. "Now you stop it, stop making excuses!" Jay's father quickly shouted at Jay, you and Edna sharing a small glance before busying yourselves once more. "Every time you're over your head, you make a joke and try to laugh it off. Right now is not a time to be a man of words, but a man of action." With a sigh from Edna, the woman quickly walked over and placed her hands on his shoulders, stating that he was being too hard on Jay.

"No, he needs to hear this, darling. The world is falling apart and these two are just eating soup!" You flinched and glanced over at Jay, watching as he shook his head and tried to assure you that his father wasn't mad at you. "Ah, hush puppy, you know what I mean! You're liked by everyone who meets you, isn't that right Y/n? You like our boy Jay, right?" Now being the center of attention once more, you quickly nodded your head with a serious look, Ed huffing and turning back over. "You're telling me a boy from a junkyard can't scrap together a few new friends to help him out in a jam?" You easily took note how Ed's voice slowly took a turn into a softer one, you taking this as the okay to now look at the family beside you.
