Pov Nobody

Riley wasn't sure how she had ended up agreeing to spend a weekend at a nudist resort. It had been her mom's idea, some wild suggestion to help Riley "de-stress" before the next hockey season. Riley, always up for an adventure, had reluctantly agreed, hoping that the experience would at least give her a funny story to tell her teammates.

As soon as she arrived at the resort, she was hit by a wave of nervous energy. She clutched her duffel bag, her knuckles turning white as she scanned the place. There were people casually strolling around, not a single piece of clothing in sight. Riley felt her cheeks flush. *This is insane*, she thought.

After checking in, Riley took a deep breath and joined the crowd. She quickly learned that at the resort, everyone was friendly and nonchalant about the whole nudity thing. It wasn't long before she started to relax—just a little.

That evening, Riley wandered to the resort's communal area, where a group of people had gathered around a firepit. She stood at the edge, unsure of how to join in, when she heard a voice behind her.

"First time here?"

Riley turned to see a girl about her age, with tousled brown hair and a confident stance that Riley immediately envied. The girl didn't seem the least bit uncomfortable.

"Yeah," Riley admitted, tugging at her earlobe—a nervous habit. "Is it that obvious?"

The girl grinned. "A little. I'm Val, by the way." She extended her hand without hesitation, and Riley shook it, feeling a bit of her tension ease.

"I'm Riley."

"Nice to meet you, Riley. Wanna join us? We're just hanging out—literally."

Riley chuckled at the joke, her nerves finally starting to dissipate. She followed Val to the firepit, where they found a spot to sit. Val introduced Riley to the others, and they all chatted about everything from sports to music to the weirdness of their current situation.

Val had a way of making Riley feel comfortable, her easygoing nature and sense of humor smoothing over any awkwardness. They bonded over their shared love of sports, with Riley gushing about hockey and Val confessing that she loved to play soccer but hadn't really pursued it seriously.

The next day, Riley and Val met up again, this time at the resort's pool. The sun was high, and the air was warm, making the water all the more inviting. They swam, laughed, and even challenged each other to races, their competitive sides coming out in full force.

"You know," Val said as they lay on loungers afterward, catching their breath, "I never thought I'd make a friend at a place like this."

"Same," Riley agreed. "I mean, it's definitely not how I usually spend my weekends."

Val turned to look at Riley, a smirk playing on her lips. "So, why'd you come here?"

Riley hesitated, then shrugged. "I guess I just needed a break from everything. Hockey can be intense, and sometimes I forget to just... relax."

Val nodded in understanding. "I get that. Life gets crazy, and it's easy to get caught up in it all. That's kind of why I come here, too. It's like a reset button."

Riley smiled, appreciating Val's perspective. They spent the rest of the day together, wandering the resort, talking about their lives, and slowly realizing how much they had in common despite their different backgrounds.

By the end of the weekend, Riley and Val had become inseparable. They exchanged numbers, promising to keep in touch and even plan a few get-togethers outside the resort. As Riley packed her bag to leave, she felt a pang of sadness, but also a warmth in her chest—she had made a true friend.

On the drive home, Riley reflected on the experience. She realized that, in shedding her clothes and her initial discomfort, she had also shed some of her worries and stress. And in doing so, she had gained something far more valuable—a best friend who had seen her at her most vulnerable and accepted her just as she was.
