Pov Nobody
Riley and Val's relationship deepened rapidly after their moonlit kiss. They couldn't resist the magnetic pull drawing them closer, despite the complications it presented with Riley's sister, who was Val's girlfriend.
One evening, as they sat in Val's car after a dinner out, the tension between them was palpable.
"I can't stop thinking about you," Riley confessed, her voice barely above a whisper.
Val turned to look at her, her expression a mixture of longing and uncertainty. "Riley, I feel it too. But this... It's complicated. Your sister..."
Riley sighed, running a hand through her hair. "I know, Val. I hate hurting her, but I can't deny what I feel when I'm with you."
Val reached out, hesitating before gently touching Riley's cheek. "I care about you so much. But I don't want to be the reason for any pain."
Their eyes locked, the unspoken emotions swirling between them.
As their relationship progressed, they stole moments together whenever they could. One afternoon, while Emma was napping, they found themselves in Riley's backyard.
"I never expected this," Val murmured, her fingers intertwined with Riley's.
Riley nodded, her heart racing with both excitement and guilt. "Me neither. But being with you feels so right."
Val leaned in, brushing her lips against Riley's. "It does," she whispered. "But what about your sister?"
Riley pulled back slightly, searching Val's eyes. "I know it's complicated. I wish I had an easy answer."
Tensions mounted within Riley's family. One evening, Riley's sister confronted her in their living room, her voice trembling with hurt and anger.
"How long has this been going on, Riley?" Her sister's eyes were filled with tears.
Riley swallowed hard, meeting her sister's gaze. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean for this to happen."
Her sister shook her head, disbelief written across her face. "Val, how could you?"
Val stepped forward, her voice filled with remorse. "I never meant to hurt you. I care about both of you so much."
In the aftermath, Riley and Val faced the consequences of their actions. They sat together on Riley's porch, the weight of their decisions heavy between them.
"I never wanted to hurt anyone," Riley whispered, her voice breaking.
Val reached for Riley's hand, squeezing it gently. "I know, Riley. But we can't ignore what we feel."
Riley nodded, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I love you, Val. I just wish..."
Val pulled Riley into a tight embrace, holding her close. "I love you too. We'll get through this together."
