NINE MONTHS LATER
The country has never been better.
The GDP has grown for the past quarters, prices of basic commodities are going down, inflation has dropped, education and affordable healthcare are being felt by the masses. The country has also taken action to the WPS issue, gathering alliances with other SEA countries.
The country has never been better.
Thanks to the current administration who's proactive in addressing the pressing issues, making it a priority above all else.
"Sir, what can you say about the critics saying na kaya lang daw po nagtatrabaho ang administrasyon dahil malapit na mag eleksyon?" A reporter asked Bongbong after an even in Malacañang.
He smirked. "Let them say what they want. Palagi naman may masasabi at masasabi ang ibang tao. I'm just gonna ignore them, after all busy ako magtrabaho to make sure that we deliver long term solutions and sustainable programs. If they can suggest a better program and projects, maybe we can work together. Basta para sa bansa natin."
"Sir, how are you and Atty. Leni?" Another reporter asked.
"We— uh— we're good." He smiled.
"Hindi na po kasi kayo sir nakikita in public. You suddenly became very private." The reporter followed up.
He chuckled, trying to leave but the reporters are swarming him. "This isn't about my personal life. Hindi ako artista. Leni and I are good. That's all I can say. Bye!"
His security was able to keep him from answering questions and was able to move on to the other hall for the cabinet meeting.
---
"Mr. President!" Joyce beamed, offering her hand for a shake hands.
Bongbong smiled as he took it, he also leaned to kiss her cheek. "Nice to see you!"
She chuckled. "Two weeks ago magkasama lang tayo."
He shrugged, chuckling along with her.
They sat down and started the meeting. It was the PSAC Agriculture Recommendation in the Palace. For some reason, Bongbong and Joyce grew closer to each other. They've been seeing each other quite often since they've been involved with agriculture projects.
"Coffee tayo sa office after?" He whispered.
Joyce nodded. "Sure. 1 hr. Need ko pa bumalik sa office."
He nodded. "Okay."
Three hours later, the meeting was over. Everyone approached Bongbong to shook his hand and have a little chitchat. After almost 15 minutes, he excused himself and asked Joyce to proceed to his office as agreed.
"Di ka ba pwede mamaya sa dinner?" He asked after sipping his coffee.
She shook her head. "I need to go home. Next time nalang."
He pouted.
She smirked. "Bakit ba? Anong meron?"
"Wala naman. Matagal na tayo hindi nag didinner eh." He said.
He smiled. She got him.
"I want to join you but I really can't. I need to go home. It's Friday night." She reasoned.
"Okay. Okay. Hindi naman kita pipilitin." He said.
---
"Sir, next month po mag sstart na tayo mag libot libot." Jessa reminded. It's election season.
He nodded. "Sa mga hotel na naman tayo titira."
She nodded. "Sinend ko na po sa email yung schedule natin for that."
"I'll check it later." He uttered. "I'm quite excited. Siguro dahil gusto kong busy ako palagi."
She nodded. She knew why. "First stop natin sir region 5 po."
He looked at her. "Ha? Bakit dun agad? Di ba pwedeng cavite muna? Bulacan? Laguna? Bakit ang layo naman agad?"
She shrugged. "No idea, sir. Binato ko lang po sainyo yung galing sa hq. Sila po nag plot ng sched."
He sighed.
"Siguro po sir uunahin natin yung mga province na mababa ang numbers natin kaya po ganon." Jessa hypothesized.
"Ohh yeah yeah. You have a point." He nodded, realizing that point. "Saan tayo una?"
Jessa avoided his gaze. "Cam. Sur po."
He was speechless.
"We'll visit the capitol po tapos may rally tayo sa Naga at night." Jessa ran through.
"Naga?" He wanted to make sure.
Jessa nodded. "Yes po. Naga. As in Naga City."
"Ohh. Okay. Mabilis lang naman yata tayo dun?" He asked.
Jessa pursed her lips. "Three days, sir."
"What?!" He exclaimed.
Jessa nodded slowly. She knew he's not gonna like it.
"Pwede bang two days lang? Hindi naman ako ang kandidato. Dapat nga dadaan lang tayo dun eh." He said.
She nodded. "Okay po sir. I-relay ko po sa hq."
He nodded.
Jessa excused herself after that. She knew he'll overreact to it. They both knew Leni is in the city since she's a mayoral candidate.
---
"Hi! Kumusta?" Leni smiled the moment she answered the phone.
"Okay naman. Ikaw? I miss you." Jorge answered. He's in Manila while she's in Naga.
She blushed. "Okay naman. Medyo pagod. Galing ak sa tatlong barangay today."
"Nakauwi ka na ba?"
"Yes yes. Kakauwi lang. Maliligo na sana ako nung nag call ka."
"Ohh sorry. Baka naabala kita. I just wanna talk to you."
"No, no. It's okay. Kaya pa naman."
"So, when can I see you?"
"That I am not sure pa. Busy pa masyado dito eh. Lalo na malapit na ang kampanya."
"I can go with you naman."
She clicked her tongue. "Nag-usap na tayo about dyan diba? Huwag ka na sumama dito. Hindi naman tayo mangangampanya ng puspusan kasi wala naman kalaban."
"Okay sige sige. So dito nalang sa Manila tayo magkita?"
"Yes yes. Dyan nalang. Babalik pa din naman ako dyan ano ka ba. I'll just call you tapos magkita tayo, okay?"
"Okay."
"Sige na. Maliligo na 'ko."
"Okay. Good night!"
Call ended.
Leni then went inside the bathroom for her evening bath. After a few minutes, she was able to get ready for bed. She got her phone to reply to some important messages until she came across a message, an announcement really;
Team Mayor Leni
10 membersJazz:
Good evening @everyone! As per city events center po, PBBM will be here para po sa rally nila together with their senatoriables. Thank you!
The remaining members of the group reacted to the message except Leni. She reread the message, slightly pausing at the sight of his name. It sent shivers and she didn't know why. Her heartbeat raced.
She locked her phone and went to bed, trying not to give too much attention to what she read.
To be continued...
