My Boyfriend's Lover (A Beronica Story)

Chapter 5: Roommates

Veronica

I woke up the next morning to the smell of bacon and eggs which was probably the best experience I'd ever had. Got up and quickly got ready before rushing to the kitchen to see Betty

She was standing in new clothes with her makeup and hair done and she looked even more stunning then before

Betty- "oh! You're up! Sorry I used your stuff I-I just- um" Veronica- "hey as long as there's enough for me, I love it" She smiled again before grabbing me a plate of food. She was so nice and sweet which wasn't helping my already complicated feelings for her. Betty- "so.. are you meeting him today?" Veronica- "um.. yeah. That's okay right?" Betty- (laughs) "Ve, that's literally the whole point of you dating him" Veronica- "I know, it just doesn't feel right.. I mean going out with your boyfriend while you're staying with me" Betty- (smiles) "Veronica. If I wasn't okay with it, I would say something"

She took my hand as I felt all the air disappear from my lungs. She looked into my eyes and made me blush just by her stare.

Betty- "I promise, okay?" I nodded as she giggled. She let go of my hand which made me sad for a second. I watched her eat the rest of the food on her plate before putting her dishes away. Betty- "is there anything you want to do today?" Veronica- "maybe you could help me get ready for tonight, I mean you do know him the best. And according to every 2000's teen movie, a makeover montage is a great way to bond" Betty- "I don't think you need my help Veronica, you have already the best style of anyone I know. And besides, there's a reason he wants you and not me"

She sighed before coming and sitting down next to me. Veronica- "he's crazy, you know that right? Any person would be lucky as shit to have you. He's dumbass for letting you go" Betty- "and that's coming from a person I didn't even know existed two days ago" she laughed before grabbing the tv remote beside her.

Betty- "so, we've got plenty of time to kill" Veronica- "mhm" Betty- "should we stay in? Or go out?" Veronica- "why don't we go out, maybe some shopping?" Betty- (softly) "I-I can't afford anything here Ve" I smiled and took her hand. Veronica- "don't worry about that, let's go"

I pulled her up to her feet before we got ready and went out. I showed her a different New York from what she's seen before and I could tell she fell in love with it.

Betty- "this was amazing Ve, thank you" Veronica- "of course, we should probably start heading back to the apartment" Betty- "definitely, I was just going to suggest that" Veronica- "well great minds think alike"

We walked back to our apartment, but while we were walking Betty grabbed my hand. I shocked me for a second but I knew she was watching me so I smiled. We got home and I immediately started getting ready. Betty sat on my bed which was part of my secret plan

Yes I wanted to help her get revenge but I also wanted to see if she liked me, and by having her watch me get ready.. it was adorable watching her face. Once I was ready, I went to the door as Betty stood there with a sad look in her eyes

Betty

I was watching Veronica put her shoes on and that's when it hit me. The girl I was quickly falling for was going on a date with the guy who still thought he was dating me. It was confusing and weird but also somehow painful at the same time

Veronica- "you okay Be?" I snapped out of my head to see her standing in front of me with her arms crossed and her eyebrows scrunched. Betty- "u-uh, yeah I'm fine. Are you ready to go?" Veronica- "yeah, a-are you?" Betty- "me? What do I have to do" Veronica- "you have to do the worst task of all,  staying here alone.. without me" she put her hand on her chest and gasped dramatically. Betty- "oh what ever am I going to do?" She laughed and so did I before she hugged me and left.

I sat down on the couch and just started tearing up for a second. It hurt me that Veronica was on a date with Archie but not because I still had feelings for Archie.

I pulled myself together after five minutes of just sitting there and I turned on the tv. I watched a couple movies before getting some dinner and passing out. I was still super tired from my last couple of days and it felt so good to finally get some sleep

Veronica

I walked in after my date, it wasn't interesting and was just like a normal date that I've been in. I was just looking forward to seeing Betty. I walked in the door and smiled before seeing Betty asleep on the couch. I chuckled before putting a blanket over top of her and going to bed myself. I felt like this was going to be the new normal and that was definitely okay with me.
