My Boyfriend's Lover (A Beronica Story)

Chapter 1A: Betty's introduction

Betty Cooper age: 21

I was in New York City, I had always dreamed of living and working there but I had to give up that dream for my mom. My dad had gotten quite sick and I had to be there for my family meaning that I was in university but online.

(Over text)

Betty- "hey Arch, I got off the train"

Archie- "perfect, see you soon babe 😘

(Off text)

I smiled at his text before slipping my phone back into my pocket. I walked up the street until I reached Archie's apartment building. We had been together since high school and he had already been going to school in New York for a year already and I saw him at least once a month so I knew exactly where I was going. I rang his buzzer then walked up the few flights of stairs and knocked on the door

Archie- "hey baby" he kissed my forehead as I smiled and walked inside. Betty- "I hope you didn't miss me too much" Archie- "you know I always will"

I set my bags down in his bedroom before he grabbed my waist and pulled me in for a kiss. It wasn't long but it was definitely rougher then he used to do. He changed a lot in the past couple months and I had no idea if it was because of me or if being in the city was such a culture shock

Betty- "so what do you want to do?" Archie- "I dunno, maybe just chill out? I'm not really up to doing much" Betty- "o-oh okay"

we sat on his couch and watched a couple movies. I was kinda pissed off because I was only there for two days and this is how he wanted to spend our time together. I just stared at the tv as he occasionally laughed but I knew something was going on but I didn't think I wanted to find out. After awhile of this, he finally turned the tv off and looked at me. It definitely wasn't how he used to look at me and it hurt me.

This wasn't the first weekend that I had noticed stuff like this but I was finally just taking note of everything. I didn't want to lose him but I was afraid I already had.

Archie- "you okay Betty?" Betty- "yeah, just thinking, what do you wanna eat? It's getting late" Archie- "you can pick, I don't really care"

I sighed before getting off the couch, I was already ready to be done with this weekend and I just wanted to go home. I had no actual reason to go home cause I could do school anywhere and my family was starting to feel okay again, but I had to stay but it was definitely going to be a long weekend

We found a small little restaurant to order food from so we just ate and went to bed. All night Archie was smiling and talking in his sleep, he seemed to have been dreaming about a girl and god knows it wasn't me. It made me feel very uncomfortable and I started crying silent tears. I was losing my boyfriend and there was nothing I could do to stop it.
