Nick and Charlie life after high school one shots

Halloween

The Halloween costume was Nick's idea, of course. Nick wanted to do a marvel themed couple's costume this year. It was hard for Charlie to say no when he had picked last year's Mario Cart costume. Charlie had initially suggested batman and robin, he had gotten an earful on that one.

"You're joking right?" Nick had looked at him seriously,

"What??"

"That's DC, Charlie! I said I wanted to do a Marvel costume!" Nick whined, "Just forget it," and then Nick was full on pouting. Charlie approached him quickly,

"I'm so sorry, darling. I know it's important to you! I just get them confused!" Charlie had leaned in and kissed him on the cheek, laughing softly despite himself, "What would you like to do?" Nick blushed,

"What about.....Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes?" Charlie quickly searched the crevasses of his mind for all the Marvel lore he had learned, almost against his will, but mostly just to make Nick happy.

"Winter Soldier and Captain America? Are they even a couple?"

"Well....not in cannon.....like technically"

"What?"

"Also, Batman and Robin aren't a couple!"

"Okay, but close enough."

"Well, same for Bucky and Steve," Nick huffed, "They're perfect for each other, just like us," Nick smiled.

"That is very sweet, but I'm not sure I agree....Isn't Bucky like way younger...isn't he like a kid or something?"

"Ugh! It's complicated! People say it's morally gray because he was a child when Steve met him, but they're actually like the same age cuz Steve was fucking frozen for so long!" Charlie put his hands up.

"Okay, okay! Whatever you say, you're the expert."

"They're a very popular couple in fandom, so it's not weird."

"In fandom?"

"Yeah, people like them, they have chemistry,"

"Nick Nelson, are you involved in the MCU fandom??" Nick blushed.

"So? I like Marvel, of course I am."

"Do you like, read fan fiction and stuff?"

"I mean sometimes, what's wrong with that?!"

"Nothing! Nothing! I just, I didn't know. I think it's great actually, kinda hot." Nick was still blushing and then smirked at Charlie,

"really?"

"yeah! If you tell me you've made any erotic fan art, I might just pass out," Charlie said with a smirk. Nick chuckled,

"Well, I have written a couple of stories,"

"You have?!?! Oh my god . I have to read them, like right now. Are they spicy??"

"You know me, I can be....kinda sappy," Charlie launched at him and they both landed on the bed,

"Every single time I think you couldn't be more adorable and amazing, you keep proving me wrong."

"So you don't think it's lame?"

"Of course not, I love it! Like how incredible and sincere and sweet could you be, Nick? So you write Steve/Bucky?....like they're your ship?"

"I mean mostly....." Nick was blushing so severely, he wasn't sure he would ever return to his proper shade.

Charlie smiled at him widely, "Well then we have to be Steve and Bucky, don't we?" Nick smiled back.

"Yeah?"
