Draco and Lily were taken to their own room, far away from James and Harry's. The plan was, seeing as Draco and Harry didn't want each other to be seen together, they would have to seperate and be far from each other, each with a parent. James with Harry and Lily with Draco.
Tom the landlord took the two of them to their bedroom. He tapped the door with his wand and it pushed open.
'Your room, Mrs. Potter and Mr. Malfoy.' Tom said.
'Thank you, Tom.' Lily said as herself and Draco entered the room. 'And, please get supper for us by six.'
'No problem, ma'am.' And the landlord left.
'Okay,' Lily said. 'The two rowdy ones have left, it is left with us. What do you want us to do?'
Draco shrugged uncertainly. 'Just get my school stuff and be done with it.'
'Excited for the end of the holidays?' Lily questioned.
'Yes and no. Yes, because I'll no long have to bear Potter's insufferable noise making and annoyance.' Draco told her.
Lily chuckled.
'And no, because I'm not quite ready to face the world yet.' Draco ended, his tone sad.
'Draco, do not be hard on yourself.' Lily said, then walked to the bed and sat down beside the boy. 'We all understand what you're going through. It is normal. But never ever beat yourself up.'
Draco nodded. 'Yeah, sure.'
'Come on, let's get your book and then get some lunch for ourselves. Is that fine?'
'Yes, sure.' Draco said, slightly better at the thought of food.
So the two of them went downstairs and to thw back of the tavern where Lily tapped her wand on the brick wall three times.
The wall opened, revealing Diagon Alley. The place was busy as always, with customers and sellers moving around. Draco liked Diagon Alley more than Knockturn Alley. That place was dark, but Diagon Alley was all light.
Lily and Draco first went to Gringotts.
'Which vault, madam?' One goblin asked Lily.
'The Potters' vault,' she answered.
Draco turned to her. 'I - I thought James was taking for Potter?'
'Oh yes. But I'm taking yours from mine.'
'Oh, no.' Draco started. 'Mrs. Potter, you don't have to.'
'Draco, I understand you're rich but I think the money in that vault should not be touched until you're of age.'
'But -'
'Draco, remember, once you're under my care, you accept all that we do for you.' Lily said mock sternly.
So Draco gave up. 'Thank you, Mrs. Potter.'
'You're welcome.'
Once he is of age he'd give the Potters double of what they spend on him.
After that they left. 'Okay,' Lily said, 'you go and get yourself your robes, I will get your books. I will meet you at Humblies Lunch Place.'
'Sure.' Draco responded and went to Madam Malkin's.
'Robes small already?' Madam Malkin said, shocked. 'How tall do you want to be?'
Draco just shrugged and let the older witch do her work. Before long the woman was done and he was given his dress and he paid the lady and left.
Draco walked around the market, searching for Humblies Lunch Place. As he walked he realized he was very hungry.
Suddenly as he reached a certain place someone called his name. 'Draco.'
He turned.
It was Blaise Zabini, his friend.
