The drop of blood on my lips,
Tasting my own pain,
My heart ached, muscles chained.
I saw my reflection-
Eyes red,
Felt so impure,
Poison filled my veins.
God's devil, I was,
Thrown into the fire pit.
My red flesh burned,
Charred black,
I shivered with pain.Slowly, I burned-
nothing touched my nerves,
numbness creeping through me.
I closed my eyes,
just to see you one last time,
we were dancing between fireflies,
your smile, so pure,
a moment untouched by the flames. The fire engulfed me,
yet my heart stayed,
unburned, undestroyed, undefeated.
It charred to black,
but it was still there,
carrying the ashes of what we were.
