The movie and just sitting there was getting real boring. I can't sit still for too long. I began to get a little fidgety I guess because Ponyboy started to look at me concerned. I really wanted to talk and meet someone new. Someone that's fun, care free, and always looking to have a good time. Someone that's like me. Yeah Ponyboy is nice and a good friend and all, but he's kind of too innocent for my liking. This kid has got to have more friends of different characters judging on the two I've already met.
I just looked around for something exciting. I saw a guy with a stocky build and rusty colored sideburns sneak up behind Johnny. He scared the shit out of him. I started to laugh without trying to draw attention to myself. Pony jumped a bit but was more concerned for Johnny. The guy started to comb Johnny's hair and glanced over at me a little.
"So Pone, this your girl?" He slightly whispered to Ponyboy. If I'm sitting next to a guy, do people wildly think we're dating?
"No," he said, "Two-Bit, this is Anna."
"Oh, well hey th-" he stopped in the middle of his sentence when I looked at him. He just stopped and stared at me. He had a little crooked smile. "Damn, you're gorgeous," he said. I began to get lost in his eyes.
"Anna just moved here. She's new in town," Ponyboy said. He broke the silence and almost made things awkward after that.
"Hi," I said with a smile.
"Well I'm Two-Bit," he said making his way to the seat next to me. "And you're gorgeous."
I giggled a little. "Not too bad yourself." I looked again towards the movie screen but I was hoping he was still staring at me. I could see out of the corner of my eye he was. I leaned in and whispered, "you know you paid to watch a movie, and the movie screen is up there," I said point in to the screen. "If you came wanting to watch me, you're going to have to pay for your admission." We both laughed after and people started to give us dirty looks. But dang, this kid had an adorable laugh!
"You dig ok," he said with a smile.
"Thanks," I said with a little laugh.
"So you like it here around town?" he asked.
"Well, there's not much to it," I said turning to him, "but I like it."
"Yeah, and it's a pretty tough neighborhood. So, if you ever need any protection, I'm here," he said.
"Oh," I said scanning him, "so you're going to protect me?" I said mocking him.
"Oh yeah," he said while reaching into his pocket. He pulled something out and flicked it open. It was a black handle switchblade. I gasped a little, then we started to laugh with each other even it wasn't really that funny. The rest of the night we just joked around and laughed until people began yelling at us to leave. So we did. Just the two of us walked around the town. We laughed and he showed me around, but it wasn't really much to see because it was pretty dark. He filled me in on the whole "Greasers and Socs" thing. It was getting late and dark out so he insisted on giving me a ride home. Before I got out of the car, he stopped me.
"Anna wait! You can't leave me without giving me your number," he said with a smirk that I totally fell for. I smiled at him as I wrote down my phone number on a gum wrapper he left in his car.
"Goodnight," I said leaving.
"I'll call you!" He yelled before leaving the drive way.
