FOR THE FIRST FEW HOURS OF JULES being in la, she felt like she was in a dream. everything around her was so different from what she was used to back at home. she felt like she literally just stepped on the shoot of some hollywood movie. the first thing she noticed was the temperature difference. it was a lot hotter here than it was in boston. then there were all the differences in the surrounding buildings and plants. there were palm trees for crying out loud. she's only ever seen those in movies.
the second she walked out of the airport, it was like all her problems disappeared. everything she was worrying about on the plane, anything she left back at boston, it was all gone. that was until she heard sophia squealing, "oh my god! it's so beautiful! i can't believe i'm here! AHH!" she had forgotten that it was sophia's first time too. it pissed her off even more that she was going to have to share this experience with her, as everyone else in the group has already been here before.
nate obviously came out to la a few times with nick, matt, and chris. while erin actually used to live out here before she moved to boston. well, it wasn't exactly la, but a different, lesser known city in california. there has been multiple occasions where erin would have to remind jules that she lived no where near la, but jules has always just associated la with california too often, so she couldn't ever wrap her head around it.
