[ chaos and broken]

Author pov...

Sounds of screaming can be heard from the deep dense forest, the sound crashing leaves echoing through the forest, deep breaths and cries of agony faintly following behind. The night has fallen showing the beauty of the night sky, but for some people the night is as dull and cold as those stormy nights. Two lives in the deep woods dashing through the thick trees trying to run away from the monsters. An infant's cry is echoing through catching many unwanted things attention. The seems to be teenage boy trying to find someone, somewhere to give them the shelter and protection they needed in this frosty night.

The amber like red eyes surrounding them. One by one, the pair of red eyes increasing to the point those looks like a red fairy light. Trying to hush, the baby in his arm sprinting forward from the possible death. He knows to whom those red ebony pairs of eyes belongs to. For a mere child, He knows too well. the inhuman gurgling of those monsters filled the air making the boy more terrified. Sensing that, the infant in his arm started crying more loudly.

the creatures surrounding them both suddenly jolted towards them as the boy also ran forward as much as his legs allowed to. Trying to locate the tress and huge rocks and branches as much as his eyeballs could process with the limited source of light. His legs feeling numb as his eyes started get teary...

"h-help" the boy tried shouting for help, but his voice came crooked. "HELP US!!"

With another muster of tries he finally managed to shout aloud, was it a promising idea. Probably not but could that little developing brain could think straight at a moment between life and death. No... no one has that capability. He is doing what he felt was most right.

"Aaaaaargh" a loud shout cam be heard followed by the sound of water splash.

"Okay what was that.?" Armin shouted terrified.

The whole group came to the forest, worried sick of their youngest four. It's been midnight, all most a day. do they know where they are and what they are doing. No, but who cares. The whole group came to a halt as Armin shouted. They all clearly heard that scream. It's been decided long ago that this island is not normal. Something is wrong. All of them has different versions of 'wrongs.

"I can hear the faint sound of water over there." Kendrix moved the makeshift torch to the said direction. "let's go... we might find something there."

With that the group followed kendrix hoping that they will find the lost youngsters, without having to go much deeper in the forest than they are now. The night isn't as much as silent as it was on the day. occasional and uniform screams, thumping sounds, screeches can be heard. it's no question that there is something wrong happening yet there is equal chance that those sounds are caused by the living animals in the forest, and they are just overthinking.

minutes passing by as the air around them getting colder and colder as they wondered into the dark forest. the sounds of waterfalling becoming clearer and clearer, indicating that they are close to it.

"Is it just me or you guys see those floaty red things here and there..." Kreois whispered loudly enough for everyone to hear.

Once they comprehended what Kreois is trying to say they all scanned their eyes. Surely enough those red things were all around them. Its seems like it's getting more as seconds pass by. as in queue their fight or flight response kicked in as they got closer to each other.

"Hell is those things." Zeke murmured as he grabbed the knife he was carrying in case of emergencies. "Seems like I was right after all."

"What... the fact that we are going to die." Asher breathed out still looking at those red things.

"You can take it that way also, but I implied on using this baby boy." Zeke showed him the knife as he smirked.

"No... noooo... those aren't just read floaty things..." kendrix gulped. "Those are eyes..."

"Eyes of what!!" Asher shouted, triggering those creatures.

Loud roars can be heard as the pairs of eyes got into move, sprinting towards them. Taking them in surprise. The makeshift torches falling into the ground and extinguished it.

"RUNNN!!" kendrix shouted as he tackled down the one most near them, giving it couple of strong blows as tried to free himself from the monster's attacks.

"No, we aren't-" Cyrus tried to deny but he couldn't finish his sentence.

"I said go; I will manage.' Kendrix said as he pushed off the creature that was on top of him.

His hands were all bloody. Huffing in tiredness as he eyes those hungry monsters. It not an illusion that those aren't real. All that he wished for not to come true, faced him. Right Infront of him, those creatures are the reason he is lost with in the life itself. Why him?

With a heavy heart all except kendrix ran away to were ever they can. Their only sole goal is to survive the night and come back to find kendrix and the others. But to their dismay these creatures also followed behind them.

Far, far away from the chaos, on the southern region of the island. Near the beach, lies two men and a woman. Both breathing heavily as their body constantly rose up and down. Legs feeling numb, eyes closed. They don't have any energy with in them. They can't run forever.

The teary eyes of the woman, looking at the two of them in grief. Laying on the sandy beach they were supposed to be having fun. Looking lifelessly pale as she concentrated on the noises the tides were making. Crashing into the sand and carrying the tiny pebbles with it into the deep abyss. Sounds so calming and peaceful. Those brown eyes void of life now looking at the sky, to, particularly nothing. As those heavy tears streamed down from the corners of the eyes.

Earlier events playing on the head nonstop, as her heart blamed her for everything. A selfless person can't care less. If she did agree with Luke. He wouldn't be mad at her, nor Arlo wouldn't die. It's all because of her. It's all her. What if she just goes and get lost in that dark abyss. Will that bring peace to his soul. Will it finally lift off the grief of murder on her delicate shoulders. If she was inside that dark abyss, completely lifeless. would it...

Arlo was a social butterfly, a friend she made and became closer in no time. Maybe because they both have many similarities than differences. Maybe because they were born into same day and same month. Either way Arlo was like a little brother to her. A feeling that she once experienced and lost. And it happened again. As much as she wanted to protect the ones that felt special to her... she can't do anything... she is utterly fifthly and powerless.

Getting to experience a ghor some murder would do things very much unimaginable to a person. Some becomes fascinated, some scared. While others broken inside and left to die slowly.

Darkness slowly engulfing her once again she looked at Luke, whom she earned love, care, and comfort from, one last time as she closed her eyes once again.

"I am sorry, may his soul find peace."
