Chapter Forty-three

Nothing could've been more irritating than what was just said. It was like this bullshit all over again. With Rune now the commander of a new gang, a new fight was brewing. He must've been so upset about his defeat that he had to go and make other people follow his orders again.

"And what is this new gang called?" I asked, sliding off the Facetime and opening the iMessage app then clicking on Rindou's name.

"Scorpion is the name of his gang. Yamagishi says that this gang is out for vengeance and allied with the Devil's Ambassador's gang. They are a well-known and violent gang from Nagoya's Mizuho Ward. Their leader is said to be worse than Mikey and South Terano put together. Crossing paths with D.A. is a death sentence. The gang is rumored to have connections to the underworld of most cities in Japan and control most of the illegal activity in that area. It's so bad that the police hesitate to confront them." Chifuyu replied, playing with a small black cat in the camera.

Scorpion? That's a stupid ass name. He could've come up with something better. I rolled my eyes while thinking about it.

"Elly," Daichi said, pulling my attention away from texting Rindou what Chifuyu said. "We're telling you this because you need to warn Kantou. Takemichis mission to save Mikey still stands but there are bigger threats we have to look out for. You need to be careful and since you deal with the brothers of Roppongi, I do no doubt that you'll be a target."

"Like I'd be stupid enough to fall for the same mistake twice," I scoffed, bringing my finger to my lip nervously. I couldn't escape it anymore, this was my life. I had to watch over my shoulder now and there wasn't shit I could do unless I called it off completely with Rindou to protect myself and Ma. Calling it off would be the best idea in most people's eyes but not ours. It would make sense to stay with Rindou so he could protect me but just like before, he can't protect me and fight at the same time.

"Elly!"

I jumped out of my headspace as everyone shouted my name, "Hm? What? Sorry, I zoned out."

Senju giggled, twisting the cap of the nail polish. "You're gonna be just fine girl, I promise. If anyone has your back it's us."

"I may not know you but you seem to have a good heart. We've all heard quite good things about you from Daichi." Mitsuya added.

A teasing grin pulled at my lips, "Aw, Daichi talks about me kindly? How sweet~!" I cooed playfully.

Daichi snorted up his soda, coughing hard out of the camera view. "Go die! I haven't said shit!"

"Really bro? Could've sworn you said she's the hottest and sweetest person you know." Takemichi teased.

"I'll fucking kill you!" Daichi screamed at him.

I laughed, shaking my head at the banter between them all teasing him about the things he has said about me. It was nice to know that he's said good things rather than bad. As they were teasing him, I texted Rindou and told him to call an urgent meeting. This was something that needed to be talked about and now.

Chicken Little<3: What's the reason for the meeting? You haven't talked to me all day.
