On my shoulders, the weight of the world bears down,
crushing the spirit I used to never doubt.
I am so tired of not fucking around
and still paying the price of finding out.
I've played it safe, avoided every wrong,
listened to rules with dedication.
Yet life's cruel lessons still come around,
as if I've lived in reckless liberation.
If both saved and damned must bear the cross,
and saint and sinner will face trial and pain,
what is virtue, what's the fear of loss,
if grace falls equally like gentle rain?
In Eden's shadow, I question my path,
its forbidden fruit a tempting sight.
To taste or not? To risk divine wrath?
Shackled by the chains of what's "wrong" or "right."
The irony cuts deep, a bitter jest,
that caution fails to shield us from life's blows.
Perhaps it's time to put the restraints to rest
and let the chips fall wherever the wind blows.
For all my care, the cost remains the same,
so why not risk it all and fan the flame?
