youre my moon

You're the moon, and I'm just a tide,
Pulled by a force I can't hide.
A moth to the flame, I circle astir,
Knowing I'll burn if I get too near.

Can't shake this feeling, day or night,
You're always there but not quite in sight.
My mind's a mess, my heart's on fire,
Stuck in this loop of what I can't acquire.

I long to be near, to feel your embrace,
But you're like a distant star, forever out of my grace.
You're a book I can't read,
Pages stuck, my heart's in need.

I'm a ship lost at your shore,
Waves push back; I yearn for more.
But maybe some dreams don't fly,
And yet I still reach for the sky.
