Right as I thought that eve thing was going as it should, I saw Jeremiah pulling over right on the side of the road which meant that something was wrong.

My heartless curls were now pulled back by a claw clip as me and Belly started getting out to go and help Jeremiah who stood and cursed at his car. I really don't understand what had happened with it, but the first thought that came to mind was to call AAA. Belly and Jeremiah talked about the tyre as I showed them the phone, meaning that no one was answering. Great.

"I mean we go have my car, worst case scenario." I squinted my eyes from the sun and pointed back at my car, making Belly shake her head as she started pulling her hair into a ponytail and snapping her fingers at Jeremiah.

"We can't just leave the car here, I'm going to fix it and you're going to help me." She pointed at Jere as I just smiled and walked back to my car, the heat was too much and I knew I didn't want to get burned. I wanted to get tanned, but not exactly burned.

I sat in the drivers seat, with my book in my hands and my legs pulled up on the seat beside me. If they needed my help, all they needed to do was call me I'd help but if they were trying to fix a call rather than trying to call AAA again then it's on them.

My book was also more interesting than them right now. Better than the movies was the book I was reading now. And I'm only on about page 90 so I have to work my way through it until the end, and the book is quite interesting so I'm not complaining again.

After a few minutes, when I looked up I could see Belly and Jere hugging. My eyes were filled with sorrow because I could see that this hug was a sad one, as was everything nowadays.

It's good to see that they put their differences aside. I couldn't deal with the fact that they weren't talking to each other like they used to before. And the even worse part was that my brother was the reason why they weren't talking as openly.

As Jayden crossed my mind, I couldn't help but wonder what he was doing right now. The last time I heard from him was at the party, same with Steven and Taylor.

I closed my book and after some very short seconds, I drifted off to sleep and when I woke up I was on the passenger side and Belly was driving the car again. "We're here, Nina."

I groaned before snapping the passenger mirror down and looking at my face. I must've slept for a short period of time because my makeup and doing good and my hair was nothing a hairbrush couldn't fix.

"Shit, we're already here?"

Belly nodded before handing me some strawberries which I gratefully plopped right into my mouth. It felt good to eat something after this exhausting searching-for-Conrad-Fisher-detective-case. But the one thing that didn't feel good was the fact that I was supposed to possibly meet him right now.

He was probably in that beach house in front of me. He didn't even want to see me, so what was I doing here. I didn't realise that coming along with this meant that I would need to actually see and talk to him. I don't know what had going through my mind but right now I was just as stressed as an everyday presentation in middle school.

Belly was the first one to leave the car, I sat in a whine for a few seconds before leaving too. Fuck it, I'd have to speak to him one day. And I can always act casual. I mean, how hard can it be?

I was the last one to get into the house, my platforms stood right at the doorway and I started debating again if I should just turn around and leave at this moment.

Biting my bottom lip, I decided to suck it in and walk further into the house. That was before a familiar voice made me stop dead in my tracks. His voice.

My hands started shaking as I took in one last breath and Belly looked behind herself to see if I was following. I gave her a brief nod before taking a few steps forwards.

"What do you mean you're not coming back? What could be more important than school Connie?" Jeremiah yelled and I tried to keep my cool once again. I can't believe I'm doing this again.

All my promises that were made a few months ago were broken because here I was, nervous about his presence again.

"School doesn't matter!" Conrad yelled back. The first thing I've heard him say in ages except for the voicemail that Trusky's phone provided. "Jere, the house has been put up to sale."

Belly was the first one to walk into view of the two boys. Neither of them seemed to notice her as I followed behind. "What do you mean the house has been put up to sale?" Bally asked what was on my mind. I felt grateful for not having to talk.

Conrad's head snapped our way as his eyes immediately met mine. The blue's. And they were actually his. His mouth flew open as he failed to properly say words. My eyes stayed on his for a few seconds before I turned my stare straight to the floor.

He couldn't even say something? Not even a simple hey? Was he really that shocked by that me and Belly showed up or by the fact that I was even in the same room as him since the last time we spoke.

Before I looked away, I could see his hands drop to his sides and I could still feel his eyes burning into my head, even though I wasn't looking at him. The tension in the room was building quickly and no one really knew how to continue the conversation they were just having.

It felt weird to see him again. I thought that I'd be different, that in some way we'd just look at each other and forget everything that had happened but this wasn't one of my romance books.

This one probably didn't even have a happy ending.
